  • Saying someone pretends to like music is such a crazy concept though. Not even applicable to just Drake. People really treat their opinion as fact and can’t fathom someone feels different than them I don’t get it

Only KTT stans truly believe drake is still great. Most drake stans I know irl admit his best days were early 10s, anything after that is hit or miss. Gotta keep them OVO bosses happy though so the slurping continues

If we're truly talking about an album that "came and went" like y'all always say Mr. Morale did--its the dance album Aubrey released this year. Nobody even mentions that s*** anymore lol Alas...If you've heard one drake album, you've heard anything hes ever had to say

The early 2010s was definitely my favorite era. I was still very young at the time, and he was that rapper that I clicked with and felt a strong connection with. The emotional and sensitive component of his music was like a breath of fresh air for me.

But as time went by I felt that he failed to mature in some aspects and was no longer as relatable as he once was. And the enthusiasm began fading.

What Drake failed to do in the past 7 years is evolve. He kinda stayed the same but his fan base so loyal they rode with it.

Future definitely evolved from his 2014 self

future really hasn’t like at all
he’s had the same gimmick since hndrxx the toxic 40 year old

    Definitely true.

I dunno I think S/T, hndrxx, the wizrd show evolution then he stagnated with high off life and INLY

Monster was obviously incredible and I feel like future had a great 5 year run after that

    Literally a LeBron career trajectory

He's no longer Heat LeBron but 2016 Bron was arguably just as good and current LeBron is still crazy af

I agree with this, but I also think Her Loss was slightly overrated because it was the first above average rap heavy Drake project since 2015

Like even though I enjoy the project and rate it highly, I laugh whenever I see someone try to say that Her Loss is a top 5 or top 3 Drake project

Doesn't this just mean he has a discography you rate very highly?

  • Drake's music started to fall off to me around 2018. He still shows flashes of greatness but it's mostly hit or miss.

Apparently not. I was in Weeknd section and people were unironically saying After Hours and Dawn fm > Kiss land and Echoes of Silence

No way you were in a section where fans of an artist liked new albums from that artist

The sad thing is not many. I ain’t enjoyed rap nowhere near as much I used to.

    Could prolly only name Future

Quality is subjective and something that's perceived. Same way many people online will sweat Drake hasn't released any passable music in a decade and yet his recent music is still the most consumed amongst all rappers but when people bring up numbers, y'all deflect and act like people would still be supporting Drake the day they do it he'd been dropping trash for 10 years straight.

People were saying Dawn FM was better than House of Balloons two days after it dropped. Mfers will say anything.

I’ll leave this open but this kind of “I saw someone say this” or giving a 12 like tweet as basis for a thread needs to stop

If you have an opinion have that opinion and stand by it but don’t find someone else with that opinion and try and present yourself as a neutral to bait discussion without being in anyway culpable to defend that take
