To be fair they did try to "cancel" Tyler, and he had to go through the same kinda s*** that Em did on his come up. S***, they banned him from performing in some countries, I don't think that ever happened with Em.

Yeah I’m kind of remembering all the s*** that surrounded Tyler’s early career, got overshadowed by his new stuff imo

    i mean sure

eminem have just been tech n9ne from detroit

but kendrick would've never made his albums if he was white

bts would be one hit wonders if they weren't korean

and shakira's hips would be lying like trump if she wasn't latina

em during his prime was a much better rapper than tech n9ne tho

    Edit:

First of all OP; Black rappers have been doing horrorcore years before and after Eminem, it's just that they we're underground most of the time.

2nd Of All, Eminem's race did play a factor to his success but without Dre or the edgy image he had, he would've never made it out of Detroit.

3rd Of All, Eminem edgy image worked cuz he played towards the white stereotypes presented in pop culture at the time (especially post-Columbine), If he came out like Vanilla Ice, he wouldn't have had a career in the slightest.

Not day back in the day tho name me 5 rappers from the late 90s to early 2000s that made some foul s*** like em used to make

Big L, Cam’ron and the Beatnuts all had rape bars.

yeah nobody was rapping about shrooms and s*** back then lol. em definitely started off being labeled as weirdo rap. it wasnt until white america caught on that he took off

Lol what. Tmmlp was one of the highest selling albums of all time and had arguably his biggest hit the real slim shady. He was insanely popular before white america.

You f***ed up with the last one. Since he had actual people protesting against him and his music in the streets, and magazines too. Not just people writing stuff on their Twitter.

    Same with Marilyn.

i dont blame people for hating ems music but i will never understand the obsession with trying to undercut him or act like he was unappreciative of the culture during his come up or unaware of his position in it
