Tbh idk why you should use them. Its all about the challenge and using them would take out the fun. The most i do is Logs. For me the thrill is to get the highest dps while mastering everything of the fight. Though i never did Ultimate Raids. My mindset might be crushed if i really tried it for myself but i would even only do it with PF, so super hardcore... I do want to try to TOP one day on PF since i like the MNK weapon but since Its so hard and people need to adjust on the fly because of the mechanics, it could be the first fight you have to use them mandatorily to make it work without a static. I heard for UWU its also normal to do demand auto markers etc. Idk its still not my content but when i get to it maybe i rethink this.

I feel the same way, and if I found out someone in my party was using triggers I feel like it would kind of cheapen the clear for me too. But like you said maybe I need to rethink that thought process if I want to get into ultimates, that's why I want to know how widespread it is.

How do you feel about people practicing specific mechanics in simulators like xivsim.com?
Do you feel that learning to be consistent at earlier mechanics with your group is an important part of raids, or does it not matter, a clear is a clear?

That is fine to me. Its not different than watching guides or using raid plans. Its just more elaborate training before going into the real thing. Like getting the muscle memory without starting the game.

Really no reason to have a PS5 for FF games in the first place imo (assuming you have a PC).

I do have a PC, I would rather just play on PC instead of PS5 but PS5 exclusives stop that.

That being said, you do sometimes get Japanese games like 13 Sentinels which only release on PS5 so I guess im f***ed anyway
