So in this game do we make choices? Like in Mass Effect for example during dialogue (renegade and paragorn for example)
I wish but nah
I mean we can try to feign ignorance and give people the run around and try to act like people are seeing illusionary patterns but I think it’s very clear how Dragon Quest is still a JRPG and FF no longer is. And both of those come from Square. And you can pinpoint the exact moment where FF was too far away from DQ to consider them the same type of game.
I think it’s very clear how the Y’s series is action JRPG but Bayonetta and DMC are simply action games. Despite them all coming out of Japanese studios. Is FF 16 close to Bayo and DMC or Y’s? I think it’s very clear.
All of this “JRPG is a fake label” discourse is extremely disingenuous and mostly boils down to FF making excuses for why it’s no longer FF.
I see what you are going for but just to be clear I guess what defines a jrpg or even a rpg in general . Just so we all on the same page . Does an action rpg exist to you ?
Bro bought gollum but on the fence on good games
I think you don’t understand what I’m saying. I want all 3 but am only getting 1 for now. I’m asking which I should get first.

I know I just had to make that joke. My verdict is 1 between Diablo and street fighter and final fantasy . For that I would likely say street fighter and final fantasy so you have balance of multiplayer fun and single player . Depends how hard you are on Diablo though

This would be my first Diablo game. The beta was pretty fun but idk how long I’d have fun for. That top down camera angle type of gameplay isn’t my favorite. The reviews were fire though.
Do I have to play the older games to understand what’s happening in this one?

I think if you want to know how combat is DMC5 is on Plus and by same combat designer. I am going to try to dabble in it before launch. also we are getting a demo. I would wait til the demo to fully decide if you on fence. I think the Demo drops like June 11th with a launch event( hopefully sooner)

Final Fantasy is an anthology series. Each game tells its own story in a unique setting with a unique cast of characters.
The games are tied together by thematic and brand elements but there’s no explicit relationship between them. That said, being familiar with the series will allow for a deeper appreciation of XVI but it’s not necessary.
Why y'all care about labels so much lol if it's fire it's fire
XVII, XVIII, and XIX will all be action RPGs and turn-based purists will still be crying about the lost soul of Final Fantasy that they barely understood to begin with.
Unit III might be handling the next few mainline Final Fantasy titles as well since Unit I are wrapped up in the VII Remake trilogy and rumoured to be working on X-3 after that (I hope not).

I doubt it. XVII has prob been in preproduction since like 2021 and I don't see how CBU3 could be handling that + XVI + XIV unless they expanded big time
Anything possible though

Ishikawa taking a backseat on XIV makes me think Unit III's next project is already in early pre-production, especially since development on XVI was basically complete around a year ago.
Don’t know if I want this, Diablo 4, or street fighter 6 more.
all of them are good
XV had so much potential and fell so short of it. Development hell screwed that game.
b- game, but something about the vibes made it a 10/10 for me

While possible, Ishikawa took a backseat during the patch quest stuff which isn't too out of the norm. She was still there at the XIV writer's retreat a month or so ago. I guess we'll know if she's on XVII or not when the writer for 7.0 is revealed.
