Part 3 started development like 2.5 years ago. Sales not gonna have an effect on this regardless
But yes hopefully it's on PS5
could affect the budget one way or the other, they either lower overhead or double down

Keepn it real Kitase and Nomura get to do whatever they want at Square
Does anyone know the world wide sales including digital? Seems everyone is only paying attention to disc sales in Japan only

no one knows the total sales yet. reason Japan physicals are a big deal is because a) Japanese game and b) Japanese sales are largely physical, about 70% iirc.

I looked and this is all estimates based on physical copies only in Japan which can be explained due to lower number of PS5s circulating, and more digital purchases. People are only comparing physical sales to previous iterations without considering those. Once we get the worldwide sales including digital it may have already be on a better trajectory than the last games. Just have to wait and see. Not enough data at this point.

Yeah I think it could be worrisome if it sold bad but this doesn’t say that as fact. It could’ve sold amazing everywhere else.

at the end of the day they delivered on the game and we'll be getting a part 3 in some form so it's cool with me, idc what happens with FF as a series outside of 7

Funny part is that Japan has been FF's third biggest region for like 15 years now. Not really that important. Home console sales in general in Japan are dead

Japan isn't big on Sony
Japan isn't big on Sony
They aren't big on anything that isn't on a Switch or phone honestly lol. Just mobile. Like people are dooming about Rebirth sales in Japan when it's still the 2nd biggest PS5 launch there ever

Exactly. Japan hasn’t been buying consoles for 10 yrs.
Rebirth was still the #1 seller on the JP PSN store for February despite only havint 1 day of tracking. Digital sales could be more significant than normal there due to the fact that they were giving away Remake if you bought Rebirth on the PSN store but who knows

That isn’t saying much the biggest launch is XVI
Just lost 2 hours worth of progress due to the absolute s***e retry checkpoint system.
Kept dying to a boss and wanted to change my material before a fight, but each time I died it would automatically play the cinematic before it.
So you’d assume you could go back just before the battle.
What a f***ing load of s***. Honestly don’t think I cba playing the game again now as I have to do the Cait Sith s***.
The checkpoint takes you all the way back to the beginning Nibelheim.
Honestly man, what the f***.

That's exactly my point. Home consoles are dead in Japan outside of Genshin lol. It's just how it is. It's less a reflection of FF as a franchise and more a statement on the home console situation, which is dire.

Equip lightning materia and Moogle Knuckle weapon ability and that mandatory fight w Cait Sith is a breeze
You don’t want to stop here. Trust me.

Sucks to hear that. I remember a certain point in the game where I died in a really long boss fight and I was stunlocked for a whole minute because the retry menu made no sense at all

Am I tripping or I have no problem understanding this menu at all lol

Habitually save before stepping into any big open area or obvious boss fight
Just load my own game and don’t trust whatever options they give

The good thing is that you don't need to understand it anyway to know that the top option is always the correct one, regardless, seeing this menu after you die near the end of an hour long boss fight is very funny.
I have no idea what "Resume" would have done
