    Certain groups of people in the US actually get mad if you speak any language other than “American” in their presence.

    Sad, languages are the keys to the world.

    know Albanian and English, been wanting to venture out to another language. was thinking Japanese/Korean, but it looks so damn hard

    I faked learning Chinese Japanese and Korean to get b****es and it worked

    I've always wanted to relearn Japanese, I was fluent as a child. And I also want to someday learn my mother tongue, Thai.

    yes i’m currently learning japanese because i live in japan. my girl doesn’t speak that much english so often we speak in a mix of japanese and english

    for career goals i need to take a test so it’s difficult

    I was raised by my stepfather who is Japanese but my biological father is Thai. I'm basically half Thai and was raised Japanese.

    Learning Portuguese at the moment, kind of hard when you can't quite immerse yourself in the language. After that I'll try learn one of Swahili, Dutch, or Spanish, already have a decent grasp of the grammar of these languages, and with latter 2 I even have some vocab

    I learned Russian by listening to Russian music and watching Russian television
    Didn’t even take any lessons, just learned empirically

    Heard it was super hard to learn how to write/read

    signed up for a basic french course, a total of 50 hours, two times a week. my vocab is pretty decent for someone who hasn't studied a single minute of french, unless watching a lot of french films counts
