I agree it makes no sense that he had stark divisions between the projects while working, but I presume the idea of making enough for two albums to get out of the deal was likely there from the get go as well.

Anyone with a brain can tell that Endless was born from the same sessions as Blond. Frank was able to execute both projects so well that it made them feel very distinct. The structuring of Endless was genius and made it more than the sum of its parts. It stands on its own, but it is made up of things that didnāt make Blond. One way to know that the projects are fluid is that Mitsubishi Sony was supposed to be on Blond. The nostalgic storytelling should be a tip off too.
Not hard to imagine the words of Alabama, Slide On Me, and Comme de GarƧon fitting with the themes on Blond. āSuburbia got a yard all this estate for my mind to runā that part always screamed blond too
Obviously Frank made a s*** ton of music in those 4 years, and I donāt believe there was āblond sessionsā and āendless sessionsā during that until late in the process. Itās much more likely he had a pile of ideas and curated them into two projects
I agree that they were probably made during the same recording sessions, but I think he always knew for the most part which songs would be on Endless and which songs would be on Blonde.
Endless is a lot more formless & experimental whereas Blonde is more structured & airy.
Endless feels like one long stream of consciousness and Blonde is a lot more of a statement piece.
Endless is like a collection of scatterbrained ideas while each song on Blonde feels like a very significant and purposeful vignette of Frankās past.
I think that was very intentional and that Frank had a distinct idea from the get-go of what he wanted each project to be

I wouldnāt dispute that as much, but when people act like Blond and Endless arenāt artistically related itās crazy to me.
But even all that, idk. The whole āgetting out of the dealā thing barely makes sense anyway tbh, there was something more to what happened with him and Def Jam behind the scenes, thereās zero chance that they actually accepted Endless as fulfilling his obligation lol
I think a lot of the narratives surrounding Frank is tainted by redditor fan fiction filling in the blanks
