what is going on with the youth though. i am talking Pre-K to 12th grade. isnt that historically where most meet their friends? of course making frienships is a lifelong thing, but wouldnt that be the place to look?

Covid took away 2 pivotal years of this generation vro vro

When that study was going on during covid about how men are finally starting to have non-surface level conversations with each other i was like

Me and my niggas been on that since 5th grade lmao

Deadass me and some of my folks from my hometown, we're still close even though I moved right after the quarantines were lifted. Managed to find my own community in the city I moved to as well. Don't get me wrong I can handle well enough on my own, but it just makes life easier knowing you have that external support as well

  • Aug 25, 2023

I got a few friends who don’t have friends aside from me and I see em struggling to make friends n s*** sometimes

It’s def tough out here for folks

And I won’t share my friends with them either cause they wouldn’t approve of how we get down

Millennials was the last generation before tech truly became the parent of children.

It was still new during our time so we were still forced to be outside.

This why I make it a point to let all those close to me know how much I value them and how much they've helped me even though they may not know the full picture

I don’t think society is the problem I think people are
It can be argued that society created people that naturally crave kinship but unnaturally fear it but that’s what it is

We also (least imo) need to have a real honest conversation on how public school be cultivating a culture of isolation.

Coming from a private school background, public high school was a mind f***. Niggas having anxiety to read a simple essay in front of a classroom was new to me

  • Some simple reasons:

S*** expensive so meet ups and hanging out starts to get annoying.
Pandemic made a lot of people realize just how f***in stupid and/or racist their friends are.
People be growing up and growing apart.

have muricans become more competitive in the past twenty years?

in terms of the dating market, career, clout, money, etc.

maybe people in the US size each other up as competitors instead of potential friends

This is a very important factor in the whole issue
