MCNgod damn i hurt a bunch of feelings. I do not believe yall are really going to the library like that.
Between my wife and me, we are at the library 3-5 times a week. Dropping / picking up books we checked out and printing shipping labels for stuff my wife sells online (we have a printer at home but may as well take advantage of the $5 monthly credit we get).
Like other people have said, there are so many niche services that it can help you with. For example, need a notary for some banking s*** I am doing. Guess what, my local library has the service, and it is free 🙏
Honestly, even if we never used the services, I would support it because of how much value it offers to my community and surrounding ones.

Libraries will never be obsolete especially in a class-oriented society. It's literally one of the only things civilization has gotten right lol. Outside of that, public infrastructure, and due process everything else is a damn mess.
Not everyone has quality Internet and access to digital resources to find books they want/need, so pirating books is impractical. Plus a socially-oriented mode of literary consumption is amazing.

ASAKIChicago Public Library system is fire. No late fees on books + The Maker Lab (3d printers, sewing machines, laser cutters, etc) + a bunch of free streaming/research journal subscriptions
