    It literally doesn't matter.

Right––I'm making this thread because I've had trouble getting approved for one because I have no credit history, you know

I'm really just asking for credit cards that usually accept first-timers

If you get one make sure you're only spending what you can afford on it, so you're not just paying just the minimum. If you don't have that self control wait until you do. Interest rates on entry level credit cards are hella. I have the discover and apple ones they're solid

  • Mar 7, 2021

discover it card, citi double cash, capital one platinum all accept people with little to no credit. idk if chase will accept someone with little credit. if none of those sccept you try signing up for the secured version of those cards where you give them say $200 and you have a $200 credit limit that you eventually break out of

Paying back money is a b**** fam, even if you spend what you can afford. If you’re not using your credit for a reliable brand new car or to get a new place(apartment) I don’t advise it

But I do agree in the aspect of using it like a debit card to build your credit because you’re gonna need it at some point but it’s easy to f*** up your credit in the beginning if you aren’t used to it

Damn fam, you just gotta trust that people won’t be idiots.

It literally doesn’t matter if someone is making 100k a year vs someone making 20k, they could both easily abuse it, it has nothing to do with how much money you make lmfao.

Telling someone NOT to get a credit card (and therefore not build their credit, which is something everyone 100% needs if they’re not trying to drive a s***ty car and live in a trash apartment forever) is probably the worst financial advise you could give someone. In fact, one of the top 5 pieces of advise that I’d give myself at 18 if I could would be to get a credit card instead of waiting until I was 26.

If you enjoy traveling at least once a year, hit up my thread about Churning @op . Again, if you travel at least once a year, you’ll be making a mistake if you get any type of credit card other than a travel points card (you don’t need to get full blown into the churning game tho).

    ktt2.com/credit-card-rewards-churning-thread-109068

If you don’t care about traveling, then I’d just suggest a cash back card, but i don’t really know much about those.

To the people saying credit unions — credit unions are super dope and I love mine. They have the best car loan and mortgage rates and also amazing interest on savings accounts.

That being said, they are not even remotely CLOSE to the best option for a credit card unless you already know you’re gonna f*** up and not pay off your balance and incur interest lol. Credit cards are the one instance where a big bank/company like Chase or AMEX will give you WAY more value than a credit union (if you’re not a dumbass and pay off your balance on time).
