Nah it's not that. It's the Roy Burns aspect bro.
1) The reason he takes on Jason's identity is to get revenge for his son's death, but he never kills the guy that actually kills his son.
2) After his son Joey is killed they clearly state in the movie that the kid never knew his dad but yet when we find out Roy is his dad, he has up to date pictures of Joey as a young adult in his wallet. How did he get those pics if they never interacted with each other?
3) They also said Joey was abandoned as a child, shuffled around until he ended up in a halfway home in the same town his dead beat dad works as a paramedic?
Lol like it's too much weird s*** with one plot twist even for a Friday movie
I guess I just never dig too deep into it and just think of it as a pure exploitation movie. It’s just total sleaze and leans into everything the series was known for up to that point. The killer not actually being Jason feels more like a meta commentary at that point in the franchise than a real plot element even though it clearly is. It reminds me of the first time they changed Bond actors and it was the one time performance by George Lazenby and then immediately after they went back to Connery.

Understandable. I think 6's meta aspects work for me better but 4,5,6, work as a dope trilogy IMO.
I don't think I really hate any Friday movies except Manhattan and Goes to Hell
I genuinely think Friday 5 is just a good exploitation movie so it’s not a “guilty pleasure” for me. Freddy’s Dead on the other hand is pretty goddamn bad and I’ll agree with you on that but I do sort of like it as a total cartoony farce. At that point in the franchise I’m like f*** it just give me Freddy as a total comedian. I prefer it to the remake which feels so lifeless and like nobody involved cared about it.
Is that the one where hes playing videogames in the basement with the main character on the tv and s***? F***ing hilarious, dude went full on comedy at that point

Yeah. There’s a sequence where he rolls a thing of spikes in the frame while someone’s falling so they’ll land on it like Willie Coyote. It’s really stupid but it owns it.

I’ve grown to like those too. None of them I’d put below 3 stars. They’re all kinda fun in their own way. I totally understand disliking those ones though.
What’s y’all’s personal canon
Rn I like 1978, H2, H20 (fuck Resurrection lmao)
But the current timeline could overtake it depending on how Ends turns out
just 1 and 2
people like H20, I think its aged terribly and the michael myers portrayal in that movie feels like its a roy burns situation with some random dude trolling laurie 20 years later. doesnt look or feel like myers at all.
H20 being like a scream film reinforces that feeling too, imo.
Just finished my viewing. As a fan of the OG movie and someone who really enjoyed the 2018 continuation, I had fun with Halloween Kills.
Loved the flashbacks and in a movie like this, expanding the mythos is risky, however I thought they nailed it. Wasn’t a fan of Loomis.
The movie has its issues (the dialogues were too on the nose) but I will gladly rewatch it. I might be in the minority here but I liked how it felt “smaller” than the 2018. It’s refreshing to see a movie being it’s own thing instead of trying to outdo the previous chapter.
Really got me hyped up for Halloween Ends. I think by the time this trilogy is complete, Halloween Kills will be appreciated more.

I agree with a lot of this. Kills is definitely a fun watch.
I think this will end up being a pretty good trilogy when it's all said and done, i definitely can't wait to cop the trilogy in a 4k boxset

@BlueDream_ where do yall think it goes from here? Should Halloween Ends feel "bigger" like 2018 or more smaller like Kills

They ll have to bring in army tanks and ak 47s to even stand a chance against this new super hero/villain version of Myers tbqh after that ridiculous ending

not gonna lie this not the first time Mike took on a mob before tho lmao Cult Of Thorn trilogy Mike had some ridiculous s*** too lol

I def think it'll be the most straight forward film of the trilogy.
I'm thinking overall the film will feel bigger but also much more focused than the other 2 films.
It will probably only focus on Laurie and Michael's perspectives and we will mostly just see them for most of the film
But I also think we will get some big set pieces and a lot of moments full of action

Don't forget Allyson lol Mike took everything from her

From what I’ve gathered, the ending shown at the screening implied he was indeed an otherworldly figure. This concept however seems to be dropped.
The ending is by far my least favorite part. Although expected, it took me out of the experience. Realistically speaking though, the original ending in ‘78 wasn’t too realistic either. It did however feel more subtle.
So I finally got around to watching Halloween 2018 and Halloween Kills on Halloween night
2018 was F***IN AMAZING. Man I absolutely loved it man. This is what I love about this new sequels of horror movies. They make them more complex then the originals and had multiple layers to them in new and fresh ways
Halloween Kills…. Was pretty damn disappointing. It started off decent but just got more and more silly and then surprise kill at the end was just totally outta nowhere. They def went for the “shocking kill” without it being deserved. Came outtta nowhere. And most of the mob scenes toward the end were so f***in corny. Like that s*** felt like some early 2000s acting
I hope Ends ends up saving this average sequel in this new trilogy
need scream factory complete halloween collection now
Gotta wait for Kills and then this is a must
Honeslty big John and little John was one of my favorite parts. It felt like Danny McBride writing satire of 80’s slashers with their homophobic caricatures. I thought that whole sequence was hilarious.
Legit the best part of Kills
I need a horror movie of them 2 NOW
They saved the movie so much and my favorite scenes were of them
@BlueDream_ where do yall think it goes from here? Should Halloween Ends feel "bigger" like 2018 or more smaller like Kills
I’d say both.
I’m hoping it’s closer to the 2018 in a sense of being an event. Big set pieces, memorable sequences, tension building up and leading us to the finale.
At the same time I’d like it to be more focused and character driven. I’d like to see more of Laurie and Michael and their dynamic. One of the best things about Halloween Kills (for me) is that they never interact with one another.
hopefully ends just means its the end of lauries story/timeline. keep michael and lets move on to something else.

Oh hell nah
I don’t even know what to say this fam I’m flabbergasted
I can already imagine the ending to Ends
Laurie’s will sacrifice herself and throw herself off a cliff with michael, you’ll see both of their bodies at the bottom of the cliff dead, and then it’ll pan back to both of them but it’s just Laurie, implying that michael walked off and is still alive hammering home the “Evil lives”

nah i feel like they will fr kill Mike at the end of this trilogy
if they do future movies they'll just retcon it to show how he survived
but i have faith they'll be a real ending to this trilogy without any ambiguity
@BlueDream_ where do yall think it goes from here? Should Halloween Ends feel "bigger" like 2018 or more smaller like Kills
I think Michael is gonna take the most damage we’ve seen in the franchise so far
Feel like we’re gonna have a scene where he’s still charging forward despite having his brains hanging out of his mask
