Other than excluding some stuff because the movies obviously couldn't include everything, what didn't they get right?
for one thing the final harry vs voldemort showdown fight was 100% different than the book

Yeah, book version was WAY better. But I kinda get why they did it, having Harry explain the whole thing with the wand is anticlimactic and they need to cater for the masses. Book version is not the kind of thing people want to see end off a blockbuster.
Personally, I was pissed that they excluded Dumbledore's talk with Harry at the end of OOTP explaining the prophecy. But again, I get that they had to exclude things because of time constraints
Overall I think they did the books justice, I'm surprised to see anyone say we need a series to get it right this time when another go will probably only have minor differences

i mean and we also didnt get the whole Gaunt back story to know where tom riddle came from
that would be great to see
Voldemort mini-series dealing with the years after he left Hogwarts
i need the whole voldemort story tbh including hogwarts
Hope this isn’t a reboot
Maybe like an adaptation of Cursed Child, but better?
cursed child got trashed left and right so i cant see them adapting the story
its not gonna be a reboot either since the films are still way too relevant and people wont adapt to different actors playing harry ron and hermione
im hoping for a prequel, either about the founders of hogwarts or voldemorts backstory
"Harry Potter TV series in the works"
"This won't be about Harry Potter"
Which one is it
TV series set in the world of Harry potter
It’s Really underwhelming to most fans, it’s not bad but just kinda there imo.
The lead actor is probably my biggest gripe tbh, he’s very stale and boring.
its just the fact that no one gives a s*** about newt. we already had a whole 8 movies with dumbledore as a side character, most fans was looking forward to fantastic beasts to get the dumbledore background story but they decided to make him a side character again and focus on newt when nobody gives a f*** about him
IN HBO coming for the streaming throne
As far as quality it’s always had the throne
Netflix brand is too strong though it hooks in all the casuals

Tbh I have both and been using HBO way more
Finally. I’ve been wanting this since forever.
Completely forgot about Fantastic Beasts being a thing cause I thought those movies were eh.
I just want them to go into book details since there was a lot cut like your usual “movies based on books”.
Seriously surprised they're doing it so soon after the movie series ended. Thought they'd wait another 5-10 years.
The casting for the movies was absolutely spot on. Can't think of one character who was miscast, so that's the biggest hurdle if they go the Harry Potter route.
I just hope it's better than the Netflix adaption of A Series of Unfortunate Events. The tone of the books was so dark and they ended up turning it into a children's show

realistically this isnt gonna come out before 2024 or 2025. apparently they are just pitching ideas atm
need a series about the rise of voldemort
Feel like that’s where they’re headed with Fantastic Beasts.

Dumbledore was HORRIBLY cast. Can’t think of hardly anyone who read the books that thinks the movie Dumbledore was accurate.
And the reason why quite clearly is that HBO Max is in an extremely competitive race for the stream wars rn, and by far the biggest asset they hold is the rights to Harry Potter. Letting that asset just sit and collect dust would be horrible business on their end.
