Oh s***, I haven’t read Men without Women yet but I’m in for any Murakami adaptation.
I wonder why none of his novels have been adapted yet into tv/movie yet too hard to adapt maybe?

very surreal literature tbh
I've really got to start reading again. The Wind Up Bird Chronicle was one of the first lengthy novels I read on my own and it was during a period of my life that was pretty chaotic
That book is a work of art. The places it went plus the last 100 pages are something you can't even really describe to another person. Murakami tapped into a type of surrealism that's incredibly affecting and unforgettable

no doubt, it's a novel that'll stick with you
started dune bit a little bored so far.
Apparently it picks up
It’s on my list but I’ve been putting it off for exactly that reason lol
Gotta do it before the movie releases though.

Wind up and Kafka are my favorite. Just started reading 1Q84 and Strange Library is a fun read. Really want to pick up First person soon but will wait till I finish 1Q84. Took a long break from fiction and just starting to get back into it. I read Wind Up after a pretty gnarly break up and can confidently say it pulled me out of a pretty gnarly place.
Finished Kafka on the shore two years ago and s*** still lingers in my mind at times
read hear the wind sing/pinball, 1973 last week. both were just okay, nothing special but his writing style was still

I don’t know if I should reread Kafka or do hard boiled or wind up bird
books i’ve read so far: a wild sheep chase, dance dance dance, norwegian wood, after dark, the wind up bird chronicle, hard boiled wonderland, the sputnik sweetheart and kafka on the shore
my favorite is probably a wild sheep chase or norwegian wood. wasn’t as crazy about kafka as a lot of people

sounds like you're ready for his magnum opus 1Q84
check out his latest novel Killing Commendatore too. I thought it was very good and underrated

listened to a read through of one of his short stories called 'UFO in Kushiro' that was featured in the New Yorker about a 20 years ago and then was later featured in his 'After The Quake' novel. enjoyed it a lot. definitely have to check out his short story collections as I go through his bibliography
