been wanting to read stuff from him.
heard a lot of the critiques from women and other ppl but also heard they're still worthwhile reads. like a lot of other popular books
Yeah dude definitely read Murakami, he’s really good and writes very personal, 1-1 conversation, slow burner type books.
Anyone who says that you shouldn’t read his books because of his woman characters is just peak twitter brain. S*** like that just pisses me off. Like you said almost every artist has something controversial or whatever about them and their work

most just critique how he writes women and such, more of a "take with a grain of salt" or separate critique than a "don't read this".
it's def on my radar tho
F*** dude Wind up bird chronicle is taking me soo long to read

It reads like all his other books but its just very drawn out and not interesting in some parts. Still pretty good book tho i like his stories and way of writing. No plot just vibes
Reading my first Murakami right now, Norwegian Wood.
Kinda like it, still not sure where its going but I'm enjoying it.
Almost halfway through.

My man Tsukuru Tazaki deserves more recognition. That book means a lot me partly because I read it during high school when I had a super close group of friends and now that HS is over we all moved to different places, are doing different things and don't really talk anymore, so that book hits even harder now.
NEW NOVEL APRIL 13
looks like just the Japanese version and no dates for a translation yet, but it's gotta be coming soon

According to some dude on reddit, the Danish translation is coming along with the Japanese release, so lets hope the English one is too🤞

It’s the same title as a 1980 novella that Murakami disavowed as a “failed work” but later rewrote as Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.
