An amazing read
The ending got me a little confused tho
with murakami, it's almost always more about the journey than the ending
I've noticed most of his novels end in sort of strange or anti-climactic ways. Kafka on the Shore is the only one I've read with an ending that truly kicks ass.
glad to hear u enjoyed the book (:
read Kafka on the Shore in grade 8 that s*** blew my mind bro i din know f*** was goin on i read that 2 times i liked the two parralel stories going on thing that book is some crazy s*** recommend it to all the folks of all varieties
Read norwegian wood recently. Found it pretty average
I also really disliked norwegian wood but I’ve got about 80 pages left of the wind up bird chronicle and have been absolutely loving it. Totally absorbed in the world he creates. Definitely going to read kafka on the shore and 1q84 now

Damn. That's interesting how people have different experiences with Murakami. I devoured Norwegian Wood but found chunks of wind up bird to be a real slog.
picked up Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki, prolly start it today
60 pages in, this is dope so far nice & slow & sad

i’ma put this one off until i’ve read a handful of his others then.
Crazy I got a recc to read this man, told my wife it was an acclaimed Japanese author, she read the s*** outta his books. I still haven't even had time to read a book. Ugh. Am changing employment soon with should raise my mental energy levels to be able to read novels again. Really wanna read 1Q84
got about halfway through windup bird chronicles and just hit a wall and never returned, but i started 1Q84 yesterday and i'm really digging it so far.
thinking about getting back to windup first tho

It doesn't wrap up at all so read it for the journey, and not the conclusion
got ~140 more pages of Colorless Tsukuru
this novel has been a joy to read, and i’m already anticipating moving onto my next Murakami.
actually think i’ma finish it today and hit my local used bookstore for Kafka on the Shore

i had the same thing with windup bird chronicle and i rarely have that with any book pretty weird
I can't get into his short stories mayne
i really like first person singular, did you try that collection?
local bookstore had no Murakami, but the library had Killing Commendatore so i’m starting that rn! a bit longer than Colorless Tsukuru, but that means even more to enjoy

his most underrated book imo, let us know what ya think

only 50 pages in so far but this is feeling like another banger crazy how i could relate to a lot of Colorless Tsukuru, AND this one too already
like damn
off tomorrow so i’ma try to kill like 150 pages or so, interested to see where this one goes
yeah this one is way different, but also kinda similar to Colorless Tsukuru so far.
with the slow pacing and unraveling of any sort of connected plot, i can really feel Murakami sprawling out and getting comfortable in this world 150 pages in. a lot of interesting threads are being introduced, and i’m wondering how, if at all, will he sew them together
