I feel like music is always a reflection of society…I mean just look around everything feels soulless these days
S*** really mirrors the fall off of Disney/Marvel...
Reboot the MCU and Hip Hop, lol.
"Drake is like McDonald's of the music industry"
niggas still using this argument
He didn’t even explain it good either

More of a truism than an argument
Pandemic, war, poverty, BLM etc.. so many opportunities for hip hop to get back to what it used to be..and instead we just keep getting shallow party/brag raps from everyone not named Kendrick. Shame
Like just say you don't like the bullshit that's been coming out the mainstream. You'll have a more valid point if you kept it there. But there's still plenty of meaningful hip-hop out there. Instead of talking about the mainstream rap scene just find your niche in the underground and enjoy it.

People complaining about playlist/rap caviar culture but don’t want to put in the work to find their own niches which is readily available on virtually any platform
Drake is devoid of meaning
Ultimately Jon Denton hit the nail on the head when he said the reason the album sucks is because Drake is a 37 yo man still speaking on relationships and women like he’s somebody in his early 20s and ultimately that tells you he’s learned absolutely nothing and/or has nothing insightful to say about these topics. It’s got nothing to do with making social critiques or being conscious, drake has just refused to show growth as an artist or human being and that’s frankly why his musics been dogshit for such a long time

Like I definitely agree that mainstream rap has been hot garbage for a few years. But the one benefit of being in the DSP era is just the ease of access to so many different artists and subgenres from the underground that you hardly ever have to interact or keep up with whatever bullshit is being churned out the microwave that is 2020s mainstream rap.
It's easier than ever to tap in to some new s***. Takes very little effort.

Exactly. That’s why I’m still on SoundCloud heavy, following people on here on AM and combing through playlists they’ve curated, peeping threads on here. It’s never been easier to find what you want to listen to
