That isn't what I said at all. I just explained why a situation like this ended this way and why not many people rushed to intervene and tell him to let go or anything like that
You asked for a "more" to the story because I'm guessing you found it hard to believe someone wanted to subdue an individual for yelling and erratic behavior. People are very worried about stuff like this in NYC
I agree that it should be a manslaughter charge
Nah, I intended to frame my post as a question just so I understood. No accusations intended or anything.
Thank you for your perspective

And under no circumstances should a normal civilian take it in their hands to restrain someone and then for 15 minutes at that? This is no different from George Floyd, stop justifying choking people out like dogs cuz self righteous cacs wanna play Batman.
Yeah he was acting erratic that’s not a gotcha. Guess what it still doesn’t justify him being murdered. So the whole “I’m sure someone is glad a guy stepped in” is pathetic
And you asking for more cops on a subway without addressing the housing crisis, putting adequate money into mental health and general health services, gentrification and the media’s portrayal of homelessness you’re just going to inevitable lead to more situations like this
And by and large, women and minorities make up the largest number of homeless people. So whether you think so or not, you saying throw more cops at the issue ignorantly is telling those people to f*** off.
Because cops don’t care about fixing the homeless problem, they just want to remove the problem off the streets. Whether it be by force, making it illegal to be homeless thru legislation, anti-homeless structures
So when none of these issues go addressed, and people without homes are put into more and more contact with those who do, yeah these things are going to become more common.
What's everyone's opinion on bringing back mental hospitals if people are clearly going through life threatening issues like this? Reagan (I believe) basically abolished these and let all these people out to the public.
That's truthfully f***ed up and very sad that this happened, but you have to admit, the video looks a bit like Jack Harlow has Sean Price in a full nelson
I saw Jake Paul more than Harlow
White man needs jail time
No one on the train can justify why he choked him like that for 15min

There’s clearly a mental health crisis something needs to happen.
A lady tried to open a plane door while it was in the air. They duck taped her ass to the seats

I understand what you're saying bro. But if he had him in a chokehold for 15 minutes that's at least 2 stops. There are civilians in the car that said this could've been avoided in police responded within 5 mins like they're supposed to
Yes, normal people should not have to take things into their own hands, but if there's no police around and someone is yelling about not caring about going to jail and threatening people in an enclosed space? Eventually something bad is gonna happen and that's what we got here
Of course I agree that we need housing, mental health services, more accessible health care, etc. But these things are gonna take years and decades to fix up. Putting cops on the subway takes minimal effort and has proved to reduce crime and make people feel safer. It's a quick band aid fix while they work on the preventative measures.
Regardless this guy will most definitely face charges eventually as he should. Self defense laws in NYC are pretty terrible to begin with and you can't just choke someone to death over threats
A decent human would kill themselves if they knew they killed an innocent person

Why do that when you can just fund your police force to arrest and drive off them instead tho

Cops do not make people feel safer, this is a white-centric pov, I’m sorry.
I’m not saying they don’t in certain circumstances, but making that blanket statement when minorities in overpoliced areas or just walking into any stores in bad parts of town and see security.
That s*** does not make black people feel safer.
You do understand that’s an extremely privileged feeling to have.
@999Wrld spittin lol

And more cops?
It’s crazy every time these issues get brought up it’s always the same
“Man x,y,z is too long or will take time”
“I’m in the meantime, throw more cops at it”
Haven’t we heard this for like 10 years or so now, definitely more.
Doesn’t NYC have one of the most funded police units in the world? Bro if they can’t handle it MORE cops will not help.
Literally delusion and asking for more terror on marginalized communities.
That’s sad as f***. If he didn’t attack anyone, he had no business trying to play superhero. Hopefully they decide to charge him.
@Resurrection talk like he the only nigga that lives here.
Ive seen homeless people punching windows with so much force on the late night E train it had people standing up out of shookness. Been on the (safe side) of a cab where people ended up running over to my side cause a homeles dude whipped his d*** out and started pissing.
Hell I got chased by a drunk vagrant once due to miscommunication for like 3 blocks until I made it to Lorimer L stop.
Kno what the common theme is?
Nobody in either of them scenarios had to die, or get choked out for FIFTEEN minutes.
They’re mentally ILL. Dont think you know what that means clearly.
This the same mentality that had dumbasses that dont live here think it was ok for cops to kill that homeless person on Montgomery and Utica Ave for basically pointing a broken pipe at random people (“LiKe It iS a GuN”) whereas everyone in that community that knew him around the area was outraged.
This NIMBY attitude is hilarious. And NLC leaving out that they was cops on that platform where shawty got pushed on to the tracks is typical NIMBY behavior.

Adams keep putting more $ into cops and robots that dont even work properly meanwhile we just had an example of literal failure infrastructure where a parking garage collapsed downtown killing 2 ppl but nah, fund more nypd to just sit around.

Oh s***, yeah, just saw that too. There's a mass psychosis going on right now. It's disturbing and our government is so broken that they don't want to even do anything about this.
The more is that this is NYC and situations like this can go wrong in a heartbeat and as citizens and subway riders we are always on high alert when it comes to aggressive homeless individuals
Unfortunate that he passed away but I'm sure most straphangers were appreciative that someone intervened and eased their minds
I doubt most people ITT live in the city and understand the climate. Regardless I believe he will eventually face charges of some sort.
f*** off you incestuous pedophile
Dehumanization of homeless people is insane. If the headline said "Angry commuter choked to death on NYC subway" everyone would be enraged
Soon as you change it to homeless, the reactions everywhere are as if a giant rat got stomped on or smth lol

"NIMBY attitude"
Maybe in NYC it's different, but homeless d*** addicts have ruined the city I live near to the point local businesses are moving and it's killing our biggest industry (tourism). Our local economy is going to tank because of this stuff and the fact that our government refuses to address the situation in a correct manner.
