Who cares how much the artist gets people in here talking about illegally downloading we were never buying music to begin with

    Speak for yourself idiot

  • Jun 28, 2020
    Ooo

    You don’t own the music
Artists don’t get much from it
People listen to way too much music every week and don’t appreciate it or let it sink in
Artists now drop bs bundles full of uninspired music to get more streams to get more money
It’s terrible for music in general

agree also not all albums/mixtapes arethere so many people miss out on good projects if its not on stream they dont believe they exist. and people change their projects update then not to my liking

  • Jun 28, 2020

artists didnt get much out of physical sales either dont get this argument

why are hip hop fans obsessed with sales? Surely as a fan you just want the easiest most convenient way to listen to all the music?

  • Jun 28, 2020

    always have a back up

  • Nessy

Remember when apple music wiped out everybody’s itunes collection and replaced it with clean versions

this was the worst, i only re upped on apple music this year because of that. it works pretty well now with your downloaded music

i remember Future - Now was replaced with some rock song at the time lol

    I kinda get it?

When i think of all the random songs I downloaded off YouTube and put them onto an mp3 with small storage I felt more of a connection to the songs cause I was stuck with them

Everybody was at the time because it was uncharted territory. Back when TPAB and TLOP went platinum (I think it was TLOP) people called it fake platinum because of the streams.

That and there's the argument that playing a song an x amount of times doesn't equate to buying it.

in a way the argument still holds up. The number of streams that count as a sale has changed a lot over the past few years so it all feels very arbitrary

Yeah eventhough I came to terms with it I can see why someone would be against it.

It doesn’t at all, when you see a Youngboy or Gunna type rapper go platinum off streaming, you have to ask yourself, would this went plat if people had to pay $19.99 for this project?

Isn’t there a formula that determines how many paid and free streams equal one sale?

    I streamed spotify from 2010 until 2017

In 2018 i bought myself a high end audio player, loaded up a bunch of FLACs and use that whenever im outside.

This yeat I bought a 1 TB smartphone, so I still use FLACs instead of streaming when im on the go. At home i use YouTube Vanced instead of spotify

I don’t have a streaming service. I still get my music the OG way. I understand why people do it though.
