His artist development is untouched honestly

Also for me he was the soundtrack to my youth for a solid 6-7 years

  • Sep 10, 2020

He was a cool and humble dude

I feel like Eminems popularity created the “white rapper” even though he was just a rapper that happened to white. That’s what always separated Mac from the Em babies. He doesn’t come off as one of those white people that got inspired to rap because he saw a white guy make it to the top.

It would be easy for me to say that Mac befriended Black Hippy and Anderson .Paak at the right times but he really did prove himself as a serious artist on Macadelic and so on

Committed to his craft and never tried to be anything he wasn't.

Even though he did get more popular when he died, Mac always looked to improve through his music, the improvement from Blue Slide Park to Watching Movies was crazy, and he wasn’t just a rapper, he was an artist

about to petition for all trashvis scoot s*** posters to be banned

  • Sep 10, 2020

Mac always been serious for his music even during his high school college rap days. Look at old vids of him working

He never really was garbage , his music always had content. The Question with Lil Wayne is an amazing introspective song and he was 20 yrs old when that dropped. His artistic style grew with each new project , cmon now. He started trying to copy wiz style than he created his own. Why do you think TDE f***ed with him the way he did.

I feel like people talking about WMWTSO as the start of specific period are missing out on Macadelic. Id also say that even tho he did improve, KIDS is still an excellent mixtape.

In general I think it's not hard for white rappers to be taken seriously, as long as they make high quality music and are unproblematic.

This kinda ironic considering the "I think I might need a lawyer, Hov about to have me killed for trynna talk to Rita Ora" line

So me and Earl smoking weed on Jay-Z's lawn

I'm not a Mac Miller fan per-say but out of the albums that I heard: WMWTSO, Good AM, The Divine Feminine, Swimming and Circles. Swimming is the best one.

  • Sep 10, 2020

    I miss him

a lot of people dont know/or remember that mac used to pop X before his album releases and listen to it

this is the album he said gave him bad vibes and he ended up not liking it but still had it released because it was too late

  • Sep 10, 2020

    He made good music...

Mac started getting some respect with Macadelic, then a lot of respect when he released WMWTSO and it was better than the other two albums that came out then.

Then he gave us nothing but amazing music since.

Aside from his amazing character, the man had one of the dopest maturations/progressions of an artist in our generation. His whole journey was amazing to witness

He was a normal person with a dream and good songs. Also he reached a complete goal by dating Ariana Grande.

    Ok

Mac earned his respect. He was a well seasoned vet for only being 27 before his passing. Ask anyone that grew up in that era the level of evolution is almost bar none

“He wasn’t just a rapper, he was an artist” is the dumb s*** that needs to stop. S*** ain’t as much of a compliment as you think. Rap is art and Mac surely wouldn’t separate the two. Every time I see a c***post a video of Mac playing advanced beginner guitar saying “look, he was more than just one of those black rappity rappers, Mac play gatar!” i wanna die. It’s bordering on racist frankly

    Hate to be that guy...

    But he died.

He definitely had respect in the game but the praise he’s gotten since his death is something else

You’re wrong. No one had anything bad to say about Mac when he was alive and he worked with a lot of people in the industry. Of course the love is gonna seem forced when someone dies unexpectedly.
