Going thru it over here luckily s*** just opened up in my city and gyms and things are open now so i can kinda get back in the flow of things. But ive been down badly. Smoking a lot eating trash i even f***ed two hoes raw after breaking up w my girl and im scared i caught an sti, went for a test yesterday.
yeah get a consistent gym schedule, stay on a strict diet, go out with any friends who’s willing to do anything, set goals (big or small) and make sure you follow through with them
I wouldn’t say I was depressed, but when I was younger I had a lot of internal strife that just wouldn’t go away for reasons unknown. Around that age, I adopted a sort of nihilistic world view. Not in the sense of “everything is pointless, so why even try?”, but “If everything is pointless, I will just make myself happy by doing things that I enjoy until I no longer exist”.
Guys, this idea that working out and setting a “healthy” routine will eventually solve your depression…it’s bullshit. If you needed that to heal, you probably weren’t depressed, you were just tired and unmotivated.
Depression is an existential void. You need to confront this void in order to identify what’s wrong with your life. The thing that is wrong with your life is often induced by your (socioeconomic) environment, whether it’s your current environment or your past environment. Being aware of the elements which have an influence on you is crucial to gain some control over your life. It goes beyond the “self help” bullshit telling you to lift weights and to wake at 6 AM. I go to the gym every day, it’s agreeable and useful but it doesn’t help. Trust me.
The only helpful thing to do is to seek beauty. There is true beauty beyond the ugliness of the modern world. It’s ephemeral so you better seek it actively. It’s within the smile of a child, the eyes of a woman, the soul of an artist who communicates with you through space and time. God is reflected through beauty. But you don’t have to believe in Him, even atheists and agnostics are able to find beauty. That’s also the beauty of it.

not sure if people are saying that exercise/being healthier is going to completely cure you but it can definitely make you feel better and help your symptoms
sorry but its kinda bizarre to me to claim that if being healthy helped with someone's depression then they weren't really depressed at all. we don't need to gatekeep depression like that

True asf I've been working out a lot too but it's not like it's given me a purpose or given my life some great meaning or anything
Time really heals
Meditation
Dont do d****
Therapy
And meds if its really bad
Strong social support from friends. Always going out and being engaged with friends in fun activities
Just read op and u saying u smoking. Weed can cause depression, look into it
Last time I was ridiculously depressed was when I was like 15 and I kinda just confronted all the issues I was having and made plans to solve em
Gotta meditate on it and ask yourself what’s causing you to feel like s*** and make small changes like telling yourself that you’re gonna be good everyday even if u don’t feel good
Luck and having people to rely on I guess.
I was lucky enough to be able to just leave the s***ty environment which made me depressed, and I had people to talk to and get my mind off things. Having people/someone that motivate and help you to break your bad habits is also helpful.
The same s*** doesn’t fit for everyone though
s*** cured my anxiety
I need to make it a daily thing. My anxiety isnt as bad as it once was but im still stuggling with it daily and kinda lost the meaning of life after losing my parents (especially mother)
idk just hearing about it sounds like a circle or suffering. guess you just gotta get out of the ring
Meditation helps
It trully is the antidote for unnecessary suffering and more. It's sounds so simple and maybe pointless at times when starting but when it clicks it's a profoundly transformative experience... Honestly it should be taught in every school lol
