How do y’all feel about “an eye for an eye” justice system?

    No, you watch too many movies if that's what you think. People who rob will definitely think twice but if there's someone really messed up in the head that wants to kill there's not much you can do to stop them. You can't scare those people into changing their minds.

    That's why people need to take mental health seriously because that stops the crime before it even happens. We're creating these kids that shoot up schools, even though they're still responsible, and kids on social media who do anything for clout probably just need better parenting at home.

    The question is complicated but no, an eye for an eye doesn't solve anything it's just pure revenge that changes nothing in the end

    One of the main reasons why I think the death penalty is dumb. Just read an article about a dude that got executed 4 years ago and they JUST found dna evidence that it wasn’t his on the weapon.

    PLUS personally I think life in solitude/prison is a more suitable punishment than death. It’s kinda like an easy way out for them if you really think about it

    I said it to prove why it is immoral, because unfortunately we know it happens

    They have to sit down and smoke the amount of meth they sold until they finish it or OD

  • I forgot to add this on but there's the morality side to it too.

    If they cut someone up, stab them or run them over and we do the same to them that means someone would have to volunteer to do that. We become the monster we hate so much and you don't just stab someone and go back home. Whoever gets that job will need therapy and they might be messed up too, then we just created another monster

    We have to be civil and better than that even if the criminal doesn't deserve it.

  • Another thing is that the justice system is broken and has sent innocent people to the death penalty.

    Imagine getting accused of murder that you didn't do and you get murdered that same way. Then we find out you were innocent years later. That s*** is beyond f***ed up
