    It’s the polar opposite imo
Push track had nothing that I thought was super creative, and had more harsh words against drakes mother father and producer. I was not a fan.
    Kendrick came rapping rapping.

They both brought his family into it, it was just 2 different approaches.

Kendrick was very sympathetic and considerate of Adonis and Sandra on MTG, which works in the tracks favor imo that he saved the sinister energy for mostly Drake. Even pops got it pretty light.

MTG is basically a horror movie in a song

It works better in the songs favor that the setup is him “revealing” to the family and the listener about who Drake is as a person and what he’s done.

Better than all of them. The combo of what he revealed and how he structured the track was far ahead of the rest of the songs.

It only took push 1 less than 3 minutes of rapping to end the beef. Kendrick started with a 7 minute song. Kendrick did good work but push is much more sinister

Sympathetic for Adonis? This dude gave a child trauma he’s got to grow with for the rest of his life lol. He’s prolly gonna be talking about that song in a therapy in about 20 years

    The approach was different

Pusha immediately went scorched earth after baiting Drake with Infrared.

Kendrick kept it mostly rapping with some personal jabs, so that Drake would be the one to go scorched earth first. So that when he did it, there wouldn’t be anyway to argue that he wasn’t provoked to go there.

The track turned doubtful gossip into mainstream news and gave Drake's image a heavy blow back then. And his rapping is top notch too. But I do agree with your take on those type of diss tracks although I'd blame current day rap ''fans'' for that. Reception decides everything

gave Drakes image a heavy blow back then

Like Kendrick ain’t have Aubrey’s whole city calling him a pedo just last week

If you listen back on the lyrics, there’s nothing explicitly mean or sinister towards Adonis. You could argue the condom line is bad, but that’s mostly aimed at his father.

He basically said “You’re a good kid and I’m sorry that you’re going to grow up with a father who is a terrible human being.” At no point does he directly say “YOU'RE a terrible person just like your father”

    1. MTG
    2. NLU
    3. Euphoria
    4. SOA
    5. 6:16

To be fair, SOA feels like the blueprint Kendrick used to win the beef. Kendrick took what Push did and expanded upon it.

    SOA a 10/10 track regardless

The picture did nothing for me but I get why it worked. The deadbeat thing I just disagreed with all together. Bro with his kid a lot it seems. And given the rocky past with that BM, if he was a horrible father I doubt she would let him have him. And lots of public figures keep kids hush. I could also be wrong and far off too. But this is a 8 year old beef with people we don’t know, so it really doesn’t matter that much.

I agree with the “blueprint” even though I preferred every beef song that doesn’t follow suit

Drake In 2018 was at his peak commercially. Even though the SOA did embarrass him, it really didn’t put a dent into his armor. Casuals didn’t give af about Pusha T outside of Kanye.

Kendrick took the pedo/grooming s*** that had been bubbling under the surface for years and gave it a direct spotlight. Drake knew this might happen, which is why he tried to beat him to the punch with AI Tupac, but it didn’t work.

Drake has a die hard group of stans that have kept him afloat. But post beef, he’s only had 1 hit. Versus beforehand, where he’d have a new hit every 4-5 months.

You gonna see a lot of users crash out if ICEMAN doesn’t use bundles as a strategy (I have a feeling Drake will do this)

Why would he have anything bad to say about a child. Listen back and think about how a child would feel about what is being said about their father. As a son you feel like you become you follow your father’s legacy and create yours for your sons/kids. How would you feel if that track was aimed at your dad? Not taking issue with what Kendrick did but what you are saying is 100% bullshit

MTG was a cheap imitation of SOA I rly was expecting better from Kendrick but alas he was just another self serving clown tryna make a quick buck off Drake name
