If nyc area and don’t want to live in a dump then it’s usually $1500-$1900 for a studio and 1br like 2k+
This is actually cheaper than I thought for NYC.

all ill need extra is wifi
so based on what you all are saying I just need to build my credit and maybe get my W-2 together
I can figure out the credit I dont know about the W-2
gonna go to the bank in the morning to get a credit card and just buy groceries and gas

I keep saying I’m going to apply for jobs in GA since I went to college there, might actually follow through.
The Governor is low tier though.

Figures cause for NYC I’m expecting hella expensive even for a studio, with no washer or dryer and like 400 sq ft.
In the same boat, nyc for me too. Where you thinking? I'm looking towards Brooklyn or Harlem
as someone who has lived in multiple apartments in the City I would recommended Brooklyn > Harlem. Bushwick ain't that expensive still (i think). Good social scene when things start opening up, lot of artists live there, nice restaurants, cool place in general. I would steer clear from places further out like Brownsville.

Not necessarily. I live in a pretty nice 1br in East Village and my rent dropped from 2000 to 1600 this year because of the pandemic.
First steps are calling/visiting the place and asking them about pricing
But you might not get far at higher end complexes if you have no job or credit dawg, like someone else said you should prob look into a private landlord or Airbnb lmao

your rent dropped 20% in a EV apartment???? lmaooo aight
I remember my first apartment
You're probably going to need a co-signer. I didn't read through the thread but location is huge.
I would suggest trying to get a unit on the top floor.
Find a unit with washer / dryer in unit.
Research the neighborhoods you're trying to live in.
You might have to buy insurance for your apartment so beaware of that. Don't forget security deposit and first months rent when you move in.

It depends on the company/person. But it’s worth asking

Oh s*** lol. You should be good for a decent apartment.
I had mine at around 650 when I applied. Just make sure your financial records show you can afford the rent

is available credit my money ???
I bought something and I'm trying to pay it off but it came off of my available credit and not my current balance ??

Yeah I was going to say if you're a full grown adult most people have at least some stuff contributing to their credit. If you're above 700 honestly should look into a house, something small you could be paying the same if not less than what you would pay for an apartment, they tend to be way over priced. Like for example I pay 440 a month for lot rent for my trailer, you could never find an apartment that cheap.

Current balance on your Credit card should mean what you owe. How much credit you’ve used.
Available credit is the amount of credit you have left to use.
So let’s say your credit limit is $500.
You use it on a $50 purchase.
Your current balance is $50 (what you owe)
And your remaining/available balance is $450.
Always pay more then the minimum amount every month. That way your don’t end up paying a lot in interest charges.

True but op seems hella young. So throwing all the responsibilities of a house at him rn seems excessive
