Depends if the kid cares about what he's doing, if it's just some s***ty little league soccer thing I don't care, if it's something they care about id tell em to aim higher.
There's this weird idea that only losers let their kids get participation awards and if they don't throw that s*** out their kid would be a lazy complacent loser too lmao. It's so dumb, encourage a kid to try s*** and be in different things and when they find what they want, push them to be the best they can.
