I don’t get a reason to make a big deal out of it. Just acknowledge it and move on. Lol kids learn quickly that those things aren’t actual first place prizes

What OP is suggesting is making it a far bigger thing than the average parent who would say cool and then sit on the couch

people who trip off of participation trophies are weird.

Bro if a 7 year old puts in the time to go to practice multiple times a week, compete in games, demonstrate teamwork, etc they should be rewarded even if their team doesnt win a championship. Thats a big accomplishment for someone that age.

they dont need to be rewarded with a trophy tho. but yea it aint that deep.

    i wouldn’t because it’s not that deep

Even at school you might not come first in your classes but you might shot up your grade from d to B+

    That’s worth some recognition

A trophy can be for any achievement. Doesn't have to be winning a championship.

Kids can learn multiple languages. they arent stupid bro. once they hit a certain age I think they understand the difference between a participation trophy and an actual trophy.

Overall its just a weird thing to complain about

My brother and I both used to run track when we were in school. He would come home with several 1st places and I had my participation ribbon, maybe a 4th place here & there. My brother and father would call me a "fruit" and I would have to eat my dinner on the couch because I had not earned the right to sit at the winner's table. These days, they're both depressed, obese men in sexless relationships with women they hate. So maybe you should treat your kids like garbage, so they can grow up to be greater than you, just as it should be.

That's horrible but yeah I wouldn't approach it that way. We tryna uplift em don't bash em down with name calling.

Do they? Look at how entitled some individuals are today. That's straight because of that participation trophy behaviour coddling em with losing.

I wouldn't care but we should just let kids fail and they can learn from that. Lost, failure and rejection are important events in life but we try to avoid it.

    is this a true story?

Yes sir it is. Funny thing is I actually own the "winner's table" now. I bought it from my father after he got a new dining table. I keep it unassembled in a storage closet. I set it up and eat at it when I accomplish something.
