This twisted mechanistic sense of validation from numerical ratings is completely foreign to me

And then maybe do big releases for the YouTube traffic where I may have a more controversial opinion on, but maybe go in with open mind……idk yet, I have creative control (as long as YouTube doesn’t mind 😂) so reviewing s*** I don’t like just comes off as……it’s like the reason we don’t like Fantano and them, cuz they review everything and it’s not always that persons cup of tea, or maybe they just don’t understand the culture behind it.

Absolutely, one way to promote your show would instead of it being called "a review", maybe you could promote this channel as "Jit Juvenile's Music" or "Jit Juvenile's Tunes". Even though it sounds a little tacky (at first, actually kind of a nice name) it comes off as a positive place.
Staying away from negative things/albums you don't like should probably be the ideal format. You've nailed that so far man, but yeah that definitely comes across as a good channel/brand. Seems like you could have this as a fun career/hobby (whichever one you plan on)
Would love to tune in and watch these every week. You're very knowledgeable about the Detroit scene which is booming and you could really promote some deep cuts/underground stuff which would be awesome.

GlockiThis site feels way too strongly about reviews in general but I dont agree that you should only be listening to people who you know/people with the same taste as you. That seems like a weird way to approach anything in life imo.
Ive had reviews either enhance my appreciation for an album by articulating thoughts that I couldnt pinpoint myself or make me rethink how much I enjoyed an album by presenting me a different viewpoint. They dont dictate my taste but a good review isnt useless at all, theyre worth as much as you want them to be.

These people writing articles about 'whatever' have no credibility whatsoever. The only people you should be listening to about music is your friends or people who have a similar taste to you. Not some faux-intellectual music snob online, tapping on his keyboard with cheeto fingers b****ing about how "DONDA wasn't influential enough".
I'd go so far as to say that this site needs a whole mega-thread for these reviewers. It's somewhat annoying seeing this stuff over and over.
Review infatuation is just another version of numbers talk.
If you like a song, that’s all that matters and we all should have the capability to review and buy in to music individually. If you want to debate why you think a song is great, set forth your argument and start a convo. Not everyone will agree, but at least it stems from a genuine place. If not, just enjoy the music. We all have brains!
