I had been emailing them and then I got distracted by finishing up my current classes so I stopped. Come Monday I’m calling everyday until I get the answer I want.

Man I’m used to doing college work and working at the same time. Like I can’t imagine sitting around the house doing nothing. I have to stay active. I also want to keep my mind fresh. If I take a year off then I may not be as sharp.

May 1, 2021·editedSorry that happened op but admission is never guaranteed, all schools are hard to get into these days, especially for CS, should have applied to a couple other schools as well
oh nvm this seems like a transfer which is more doable and I get why you say guaranteed acceptance I know some of the UCs do that but still, risky to apply to one. Still, that sucks, I hated applying to colleges man. You'll be okay even if you have to wait a year

For years I’ve been working towards being accepted into my dream university. I have maintained a 4.3 gpa and gained over. 65 credits in under two years.
So once March came around it was time to fill out the application to transfer to the university for computer science. Now the university I was applying to uses the common app. So each time I would select my intended area of study which was arts and sciences, the system kept changing my pick to “engineering and applied science.” So I submitted my application thinking “engineering and applied science” was what I had to pick for the computer science major.
Yesterday I was denied entry because I was supposed to apply to arts and sciences. Now I am lost because I had ONLY applied to my dream university because my admission was guaranteed. I don’t know what to do or who to contact. I have been emailing the universities office of admission office for weeks without a response. So I’m not even sure if I have a leg to stand on.
Without attending for the fall 2021 semester, that would mean I’d have to wait until fall 2022 before applying again. All of my family and friends expect me to attend my dream university. I don’t know how to tell them I was denied or a computer error.
Not a big deal. Just go to the school in person or call on the phone. Very worst circumstance you’re delayed until next year, which isn’t that bad in the grand scheme of things.

I know it’s not bad in the grand scheme but I’m more so disappointed because I told everyone that I was accepted. And now I kinda feel like a failure because I didn’t get the situation rectified in time. I’m going to argue that they didn’t respond to my emails so hopefully they’ll just fix my application or something idk

May 1, 2021Most universities don't let you declare majors right away you typically have requirements before you can do so you should be fine.
