These types of things are always changeable if you put in alot of effort (read: annoy them enough)
They don't want to put in the effort to change these things most times. But I believe you can if you try hard enough.

That’s exactly what I’m prepared to do. I understand they’re backed up due to COVID and everything but at some point they should have responded. I have nothing going on during the week so I have nothing but time to annoy them.

I haven't read the thread but you should try to go there in person and try to find who is in charge of these things, then try asking to the higher-ups of that person

The faculty works odd hours. So if I just go in person there’s no guarantee I’d be able to talk to someone who could override the decision. Although I did inform my current advisor on the situation so I won’t be dealing with this alone.

Then it should be fine
Do remember to stay normal and don't do anything crazy like the people in here are telling you to do or they'll actually have a reason to deny you lmao
damn. keep tryna get in contact with the admissions office, preferably by phone. But in the meantime look for other uni or community colleges to attend in the fall in case it don't work out and try and see if you can transfer into the school for next term
This! In the meantime keep trying to contact them, but be prepared for the possibility they'll tell you you're s*** outta luck. I would recommend looking at a community college (if you're in the US) to save money and get transferable credit.
I had been emailing them and then I got distracted by finishing up my current classes so I stopped. Come Monday I’m calling everyday until I get the answer I want.
Is there any way you can get to their admissions office in person?

I’m already attending a community college! That’s why I’m in the guaranteed transfer program. I graduate from my community college in two weeks but I’ve finished all my classes.

I could drive there but i prefer calling them

People in here wild lol
internal transfer my friend, most of your first year has nothing to do with ur major
unless i’m not understanding the situation
Not a big deal. Just go to the school in person or call on the phone. Very worst circumstance you’re delayed until next year, which isn’t that bad in the grand scheme of things.
Got a quick update. So the prestigious university couldn't fix my application but the dean did tell me I have a very strong application for the 2022 spring or 2022 semester. I also have to take three side Spanish classes as my advisor “made a mistake” when advising me. So this summer I have to take these Spanish classes in order to “strengthen” my application for spring or guaranteed admission for fall.
But my family is telling me I should go to a different university that has already accepted me then complete their bachelors program and transfer to the prestigious university for their masters. But I'm conflicted because I don't want to attend a different university.

review your options man, maybe the other university is quite good as well
but if you're set on this one, you could do a year of work experience beforehand, and reapply
you'd be miles ahead of others once you get into uni, there's many people who don't bother getting into the job market until after they graduate and they get stuck

what makes it your dream university if i may ask?

I can go in the spring or fall of 22. But my family doesn't believe I should be waiting.

I would recommend going to the uni that accepted you for the first year and then transferring over if possible for the 2nd year. Look into that if it's possible.

The university is UVA. Their computer science program is worth the wait imo. Although I was accepted into JMU as well but it isn't a prestigious university

Would you personally wait until spring or fall of 2022 for a prestigious university? Or would you go where you were accepted now?

i think the term isn't as pressing a choice - spring means you get there sooner maybe your exam dates change is all
if you hate sitting idle i'd say work, right now in may/june's the best time to be getting any kind of experience or applying for internships
it all depends on what u want, whether u study right away or a year from now doesnt really make a difference as long as you're doing something with your time
if uva is a big dealbreaker for you over jmu then see if a transfer's possible and if not, work
your application will be even stronger for next year w that experience regardless
