The university is UVA. Their computer science program is worth the wait imo. Although I was accepted into JMU as well but it isn't a prestigious university

i don't think a couple of semesters is is that long of a wait if you think it will really help your personal growth in your desired career path. if you're really committed to doing 3 Spanish courses that quickly, i think the wait would be worth it. if time is of the essence though, i'm sure you'll excel anywhere because i can tell this is important to you.

good luck and congrats on making it as far as you've made it already homie

i think the term isn't as pressing a choice - spring means you get there sooner maybe your exam dates change is all

if you hate sitting idle i'd say work, right now in may/june's the best time to be getting any kind of experience or applying for internships

it all depends on what u want, whether u study right away or a year from now doesnt really make a difference as long as you're doing something with your time

if uva is a big dealbreaker for you over jmu then see if a transfer's possible and if not, work

your application will be even stronger for next year w that experience regardless

If I were to a vet JMU’s offer I would have to attend that university for a year before even being able to transfer. So I’m thinking of just finishing these Spanish classes and attending UVA for the 2022 fall semester. Because I could go in the Spring of 2022 but I prefer taking these Spanish classes before going to UVA. On a side note thank you for your advice.

Thank you man I appreciate this a lot. Time is of the essence but waiting until fall of 2022 would be beneficial too as I’d be getting the full university experience. I have only attended a community college so far. And I recently graduated with my associates from a community college. So I just have to enroll in 3 - 4 Spanish classes as it’s a requirement for UVA. I would have been completed these Spanish classes but my advisor didn’t know I needed them.

Imma keep it real with you for one second. Uva is a great school but its not worth missing out on an entire year of school because of a f*** up lol

Go to jmu, w.e employer you run into prob wouldn't care that you went to uva

Thank you for keeping it real! My family wants me to go to JMU but I believe I missed out on fall 2021 enrollment (you only have so many weeks to accept a offer) so either way I’ll have to wait until either spring or fall of 2022. I have my heart on UVA but time is of the essence. JMUs reviews online also concerned me.

If you have to wait anyway then might as well just do uva. Take the year and have fun

Got a quick update. So the prestigious university couldn't fix my application but the dean did tell me I have a very strong application for the 2022 spring or 2022 semester. I also have to take three side Spanish classes as my advisor “made a mistake” when advising me. So this summer I have to take these Spanish classes in order to “strengthen” my application for spring or guaranteed admission for fall.

But my family is telling me I should go to a different university that has already accepted me then complete their bachelors program and transfer to the prestigious university for their masters. But I'm conflicted because I don't want to attend a different university.

That’s good to hear, no sweat. If I were you I would just go with my gut and hold off for a year. They’re gonna want you to be preoccupied with something so just get a good job and save up your money. Or get a small head start on your studies and start previewing differ topics on it ahead of time. Maybe see if you can get your hands on the curriculum and get your mind in the right spot.
