Hmm well my friend put me on to tame, strokes, and this band called skeggs
Im also having a blast with old Panic and Fall Out Boy again its so nostalgic
Also rediscovering my favorite Floyd albums
Not sure where to go from there but this thread is helping me out
rateyourmusic.com you can search for albums/eps/singles in the charts with tons of different descriptors, so you can get really specific to what you feel like at that time. Also very useful for exploring genres

It's not even you though, I can tell by your posts ITT you came from a genuine place. But this sxn as a whole been on an "anti-hip hop cause of these young whippersnappers" type gimmick recently.
Tame Impala, The Beatles, Radiohead, Mac Demarco (first 4 projects), Twin Peaks, TV Girl (French Exit and everything before), Toots and Maytals, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Car Seat Headrest, Bob Dylan (Blonde on Blonde is a great entry point), Craft Spells (Idle Labor), The Cure, Bon Iver, Volcano Choir, Born Ruffians (early albums only), System of a Down, Deafheaven, and Elton John
suddenly realizing that there’s a world’s worth of music to explore should be an amazing feeling, not regret.
Just change how you think of it. You weren’t wasting time before if you were enjoying the music you were listening to. You’re just gonna enjoy even more now.
what?
saying that liking rap and r&b (genres mostly dominated by black artists) is a phase you grow out of as you mature & begin to like real music (insert genres mostly dominated by white artists) is a very common racist trope that’s been peddled for decades to delegitimize black artists

thank you!
I do love Bon Iver already, but theres a lot of stuff here I have heard of and never listened to and stuff I havent
Im not trying to be "different" I just really like Tame Impala Ive learned lol
idk i feel like I had a "waking up" moment randomly one day and just stopped liking a s*** ton of music I used to it all feels like its about nothing
Tbf as music moves towards being more genre-less, a lot of different artists are using elements from hip hop
thank you!

Wide array of genres there, feel free to reach out if you have questions about any particular artist.

people not gonna admit it (and I'm one of the ones that do think this album will be a classic) but a good portion of the people calling Fetch The Bolt Cutters a classic are in that category.
hell, most of the "other recommendations" in this thread aren't even black artists.
