ImAUsernameLikei acknowledge that & don’t disagree, but the whole “you’ll grow out of rap and r&b as you get older” narrative has been a well-known racist trope for the last 4 decades in the same way “all lives matter” is racist even though it doesn’t explicitly say anything racist. it’s a dogwhistle.
Yeah maybe i should've specified in America. Cause where im from it was the opposite. Never really listened to rap like that growing up then when I was done with high school dove into the genre. But for most american kids it'll be rap and r&b first.
