loopholes are punishable by death
tbh I agree that its not enforceable in any efficient manner with the way these companies are set up and the power they have, the essence of what hes saying is real tho
Then everyone on ktt would know that I’m secretly drake

Forcing real names on every account would have insane chilling effect on free speech, many people would conduct themselves like PR accounts, which would defeat the purpose of social media
A compromise would be to allow like 3 to 5 accounts per person per platform, and the real identity is not visible to the front-end users and gets stored encrypted on the back-end for legal pruposes.
1. But I can't trust a private company with little to no legal oversight with this type of power tbqh. Banks for example have heavy regulations, what does Twitter have ?
2. They would access the names for any bullshit, the US especially is very lax. I would say you should need a court order to find out who posted it, and use it for real s*** not someone being mean online
Your points 1 and 2 is exactly what I'm saying though (just a bit of a roundabout manner of doing it), I'm basically agreeing with you otherwise. I'm just saying the reason why this is a problem is because monopolized capitalistic businesses and governments are corrupt enities and can't be trusted, and you can have your entire livelihood stripped away for saying the wrong thing, moreso when it's organizations calling the shots rather than individuals. Had these platforms existed independently of this establishment (i.e. the concept just existed separate of a controlling entity) and had financial/social independence been universally true, I don't think this would even be a discussion. I think the privacy/free speech argument is really only important because the system we live in is so obtuse to the rights and livelihoods of individuals that privacy and free speech are essentially the last bastions of self preservation you're "allowed". It's just that if the system was different in theory I doubt the conversation would be the same, albeit that's a big stipulation.
It's frightening that so many people are just willing to give away their privacy because "they have nothing to hide". Would you guys also let a cop into your apartment without a warrant because you have nothing to hide?
imagine twitters new terms of service requires two forms of government ID
i swear to god one time i logged onto twitter and they soft locked me from doing anything until i uploaded a pic of my license to them so i just took a break from twitter for a month and they never asked again
He's partially right but I think there needs to be a separate unique online identifier vs using a government identifier
i swear to god one time i logged onto twitter and they soft locked me from doing anything until i uploaded a pic of my license to them so i just took a break from twitter for a month and they never asked again
most they had me do is put in a Google voice # damn

I already know this would be used to further political agendas and not hold people accountable for problematic s*** they say behind a username
you already know they would've loved to have all that sweet data during the blm protests. F***ing Police and FBI would had a field day locking people up
Stop using bad a***ogies
