I think op shouldn't have framed it as the answer to all your problems. Because it's not. Some people just don't have the mental fortitude. It's a random grab bag. I've heard amazing stories and horror stories and I just don't feel near confident enough to sign 4-6 years of my life away on a chance this could work out really well for me

The military can end up radicalizing you if it goes poorly.

It may end up helping you if you need discipline (But it doesnt need to even be the military)

It may end up helping if you wanna finesse out of debt in College.

Or it may end up getting you put in a combat zone

Might even have you harm some people like the dudes stationed in Okinawa.
