Manifesto beat too
Didn't even catch this, he also didn't credit salaam remi lol
same vibes
This is fair game to discredit Hov for. Personally don’t have a huge problem with it depending on how often it is used
I’d say Mach Hommy quoting 90s rap legends is similar vibes as Tyler. Tyler sampling Al Green is not the same as Hov sampling his dead homeboy or someone he has worked with for years in Snoop or another contemporary in the Wu
Hov quoting people he came up in the game with is a bit different … along with the verbal part of hip hop always relying on outside quotes or cliches … now Hov quoting his friends just makes their lines more potent and edged in stone
y’all just mad at OP cause y’all like tyler and y’all can’t tell the difference between biting and sampling, so y’all all quote the same s*** y’all read on a forum “sampling is hip hop so what’s wrong?”y’all ain’t grow up in this s*** to know the difference for real, and tyler knows that, that’s why he did it.
y’all started saying OP has no b****es cause he made a thread that dented y’all’s reality a bit lmao
this really wouldn’t be a huge issue if this nigga didn’t specifically tell us he made everything, especially when he used to diss this and call other niggas basic for doing it even more creatively than he ended up doing it, especially if we didn’t know that he knows his fanbase won’t know any better, it’s fraud behavior and y’all can excuse it if you want, but don’t get mad at OP for pointing it out, same way y’all saying he’s lame for making the thread y’all lame for not ignoring it and just playing the music you want. it’s a forum, don’t just call niggas lame, add something to the discussion
Thread should’ve ended here. Tyler has imposter syndrome and maybe for good reason sometimes
i thought dean only did the guitar solo. i thought those disco synths that are constant on top of the sample came from bink.
OP got a point tbh. Like that gravedigger sample on lumberjack. The beat is damn near the instrumental of the sample
And even Sir B is literally just a conductor beat that Tyler slapped his producer credit on but not the conductor
Gravediggaz credited on Lumberjack iirc, idk about Sir B tho
I really hope none of you "It's just sampling bro" niggas were hating on Dawn FM or An Evening with Silk Sonic for being too derivative of older music
What if you’re like me and enjoy all 3 lol
What if you’re like me and enjoy all 3 lol
Then you're a real one (as usual)

Yeah I know they're credited but tyler is credited as sole producer when he essentially did nothing with the sample other than lay his vocals is what I was getting at.
Yeah i mean his gimmick post cherry bomb has been this 70s sampled al green stevie bootsy hybrid type s*** so idk it’s not that original but it’s original to people who aren’t hip like that you feel?

dawn no. silk sonic still a 7/10 album
you can listen to a bunch of frank songs and easily hear the stevie influences too, it just cements the idea that he’s the goat to me imo

IGOR is the only album this kinda applies to Can't say this at all about FlowerBoy or CMIYGL
All through this thread I keep seeing you say “he looped the already looped part of the song”
What the f*** are you even saying?
Most songs have things that f***ing loop. Drum patterns, Melodies, chord progressions all loop throughout most songs
Not every sample gets chopped into 16th notes like dilla, Sometimes producers just loop a short or large piece of a song
And you still ain’t shown me or anyone in this thread your “deeper knowledge of production”
You have the ability just like any other hip hop fan to tell if a sample makes a new loop out of a song like it should versus taking the established groove that the og song uses. It's not hard
I should loop a 70s city pop track put it through cassette vst emulators or maybe Amp simulation throw a few occasional detuned saw wave notes with saturation n cal it my beat lol stop playing dumb
IGOR is the only album this kinda applies to Can't say this at all about FlowerBoy or CMIYGL
yeah you’re right
i was wrong
Igor was boring and overrated.
Real ones recognize Wolf and Cherry Bomb as Tyler’s best work

@op Is Donuts by J Dilla a rip off album to you?
comparison is stupid as f*** given that dilla actually arranged those tracks, creating different sections, rearranging chops, and harmonizing/layering with multiple samples

and Tyler didn't?
I actually agree that Tyler’s sampling is kind of disappointing, sometimes I think he leveled up but it’s a sample. I can see where op is coming from, Are We Still Friends doesn’t really hold any weight as a composition
