Tyler, The Creator - B******
It's been a few good years since I played it in full and I didn't remember it being this great. First off, B****** and Inglorious are both amazing songs where he goes hard on the emotion and shock value, I also like the idea of the album beginning and ending in a therapy session.
Still imperfect with a lot of songs that aren't as high as the peak moments. These would be: Seven, Odd Toddlers, French, Assmilk, VCR/Wheels, mostly the grimier songs here that leave the most impression.
Even the best songs are a little edgy but it's what I want to hear from OF lol. I think a lot of the bars are clever and it reminds me of Eminem / horrorcore rap. It has that indie quality but much better than the first tape and has a lot of interesting ideas. Even if he would end up doing them better years later.
need it on streaming way better than goblin (except “she”)
wish i could go back to 2011 and rediscover all their work for the first time again. great times
Earl Sweatshirt - Earl
I haven’t played this one in years. Kinda funny to think he’s probably one of the best rappers today and his personality and themes are now entirely different than how they are in here.
In context this is probably the best rapped OF mixtape yet and the most offensive with a lot of rape talk and edgy curses. But a little more clever rhyme schemes. While I prefer Tyler’s more storytelling focused approach on B******, it’s nice to get variety with Earl and develop the OF sound. Overall pretty good, and best Tyler production so far.
Fav songs: Earl, Couch, Luper, Stapleton.
this the project that made me a OF fan before this i only cared about Tyler

Couch is perfection
No joke I listened to this album every single day all of 2011 and 2012
Probably one of my most listened to albums just from those 2 years alone
Greatest rapper of all time. I said what I said.
NO CAP!!
Bar for bar lyrics specifically earl is the greatest to touch a pen
I feel bad for you if you aren’t old enough to remember or realize how iconic this performance was

Mike G - Ali
Very overlooked mixtape! Actually the tightest one so far where I liked almost every song (except Stick Up) it’s a little one dimensional because of how nonchalant his voice and flow is but I think it aged well because a lot of rappers rap like this today.
Just a mixtape with nice vibes and rapping, I liked the flows he went in and Mike played it to his strengths. I like how the production here is grimey and minimalistic, Tyler really “got” this sound. Definitely worth a listen, preferably high. P.S. it’s fun hearing some early Vince Staples in this.
Fav songs: OkayMikeG, Timeless, King, Crazy.

Ali is a very underrated mixtape and there was a time where people would rank Mike G right behind Earl. Award Tour EP is also pretty good and is basically a collab tape with Vince Staples. He really shot himself in the foot by not contributing to OF Tape Vol 2 outside of Oldie
Also I think Tyler only did one or two songs on here, Left Brain and Syd handled Mike’s production for the most part.
Don’t forgot the jack mushroom mixtape
You’re an OddFutureTalk ex-pat too aren’t you lol
They should still do EarlWolf one of these days, fr, they're actually closer stylistically than ever

Song is still so hype
Its the sample
Great sample but I love the verses too
