The country was better in the 70s and 80s?
You are out of your mind. Neither of us were alive to experience it but I can confidently say those decades were pure ass
Better how?
Only people not from there really glorify it I feel like. Or rappers sometimes to sell an image
I live in Inglewood. It’s being gentrified and everybody moving to Vegas or Phoenix Arizona

You could live anywhere for cheap. Everything was cheaper. Jobs weren’t an issue. School was optional. Of course race relations and racism was awful.
And New York was actually the place with the best art, food, culture and music and anyone could live there affordably

Taking pride and glorifying two different things tho
Never forget where you came from. Love the Bronx, but I wasn't making it as an adult there and glad I caught on to this reality in my early 20s.
South Shore/Englewood, Chicago
Needless to say aint much goin on positively. Nothing as far as gentrification either.
I noticed that, when I was getting s*** on the music section for saying I moved out the hood.
They said I was white and a b**** and the hood don't want me back
KTT tends to think the hood is like on the music videos.
