I never heard of a more propped up rapper who's standards have to be lowered to suit his placement
if the big 3 really mattered kendrick's credentials would be more criticized than cole's atp
kendrick gotta drop again man nigga dropped mr moral now niggas tryna rewrite history
kendrick gotta drop again man nigga dropped mr moral now niggas tryna rewrite history
It would be cool of one of the other two could drop an album better than gkmc or tpab, until then his spot secured
Nigga are you stupid
Three = One, two, three
Drake one
Kendrick Two
Cole 3?
It's not a hard concept. If the thread title is about big 3, then why would Drake and Dot being included have to do with Cole only being there because of nostalgia nigga?
Kendrick and Drake can be there and are.
Cole is too, and the point is, is that it's not because of nostalgia. Drake and Kendrick have nothing to do with this y'all are crazy lol
What is this mixed salad omg
there is drake
then there are travis, kendrick, future, cole, ye, cole
big 3 hasnt existed for over 5 years
what nostalgia? the only nostalgia i have of Cole is how corned and trash his bars used to be tbh, he was nearly Big Sean tier lol and i say this with love, he really grew into his own and has created some great music
No, he's genuinely great like that. Great catalogue, charisma, interesting personality, great skills at rapping and songwriting. One of the last genuine and relatable mainstream artists.
Cole did not drop The Warm Up, Friday Night Lights, 2014 FHD, 4 Your Eyez Only, The Off Season and an insane 5 year feature run just to be questioned of his position at the top of the mountain

He benefitted from starting to blow up at a time when people were looking for the next generation of GOAT upcoming rappers after Wayne/Kanye. And Cole was being hailed as the next Kanye - producer, underdog, college theme etc
Was always a big fan of the guy, but I do feel like he's overrated
if we’re talking about sheer popularity, sales whatever then Cole is undoubtedly a part of the big 3
what confuses me though is when people try to extend that and try to act like Cole is on par with either Kendrick or Drake cause they’re in the same class, that’s not how things work lol—that if anything is a product of nostalgia
Big 3 only works if you dont count anyone who debuted before them or after them and even then its iffy.
let’s just stop with the big 3 discussion altogether lmfao

You’ve been lead to believe while Nicki exists but they don’t wanna have that convo
and Future
let’s just stop with the big 3 discussion altogether lmfao
we need to move the big 3 discussion to osamason, rich amiri, and ice spice
The big 3 consider themselves the big 3. It is not changeable. Travis and Future stans need to take a breath.

I swear you niggas don’t like rap. What don’t you like about it? Aside from the basic “it’s boring” response
It’s a really good concept album with versatility and really displays Cole’s storytelling well. The album gave us a perfect narrative of a black man trying to escape a lifestyle that was consuming him in favor of his loved ones. Songs like 4 Your Eyez Only are GOATed, that’s 8 minutes of some of the best storytelling rapping Cole has ever made, especially since it’s all in the perspective of his dead friend. Even a song like foldin clothes is about enjoying the simplest things in life and family. That s*** is such a vibe to me, that beat is captivating and his energy on tracks really brings it together. Song got that Sunday afternoon, wine drunk with your girl cleaning up and dancing vibes.
The intro is a great tone setter for the album with the second song immortal setting up the story well. If 2014 FHD was a love letter to Fayetteville, then this album was dedicated to all those who did make it out by prioritizing other things in life (significant other and building a life together) especially when they first meets this person (Deja Vu). It’s also for those that got trapped in the city and never made it out (Ville Mentality) but their name lives on through family and friends. It’s also shows how confusing this point of mental growth can be (She’s Mine Pt. 1, Change) as both Cole and his friend, the other main character of the story of the album, are experiencing two sides of the same situation. Also despite this newfound mentality, the world will still think you are the same person and try to keep you in the same place (Neighbors). This is all healed through love (foldin clothes) and another major step in life, fatherhood (she’s mine pt. 2). Here, the other main character still thinks he’s not worthy of love and fatherhood and returns back to street life, which leads into 4 Your Eyez Only bringing the story full circle
Overall, just a really good album once you start a***yzing and get away from online memes. A stellar addition to a legendary catalogue. Thats my goat
The entire perceived big 3 is a 2010s relic none of these guys are pushing hip hop in any particular direction, he definitely benefits the most from this narrative that’s there’s 3 mfs running s***
there is drake
then there are travis, kendrick, future, cole, ye, cole
big 3 hasnt existed for over 5 years
Drake
Nicki, Kendrick, Cole
Then there's everybody else
there is drake

big 3 hasnt existed for over 5 years
Drake hasn't even been up to Drake's own standards in years
Drake
Nicki, Kendrick, Cole
Then there's everybody else
Trav and Future absolutely on that level if you including Nicki lbr

That album is amazing. HBO doc that went with it is beautiful as well
Friday Night Lights
Section 80
So Far Gone
This wasn’t something that people just started saying in 2018
Fundamentally rapping will always matter. Cry
Yeah. One of those projects was never topped by the artist. While the other two made multiple better albums that are hailed as classics.
