I think he meets the qualifications of a "movie star" in that his persona and look are worked into the material rather than around it. That said, I think Hit Man is the only good movie of the three and that's a movie he uses to show his breadth and depth. Adria Arjona can hang with him in a way that Sydney Sweeny and Daisy Edgar Jones can't. Plus he cowrote it with the Linklater.
Using him as a teeny bopper in these broad films seems like a necessary step to something more substantive. Hopefully that's not just an Oscar play with a biopic.
UPCOMING PROJECTS
Edgar Wright's The Running Man remake

Great value Ryan reynolds
I think that's Zachary Levi lol.
Levi wanna have Ryan Reynolds career so bad and copies him at every turn lol.
folks hating but all three films in OP are decent to good
star actors dont necessarily need to have or display range

"star actors dont necessarily need to have or display range"
Yeah true but if that's the case then we're not gonna champion you as "Him" when there's niggas that actually have what you lack
I'm not buying into his hype just yet but bro does have talent. Let's give him time to actually prove he's THAT nigga over everyone else
He could be the next Tom Cruise. He needs a high profile relationship to take him over the top
Been a star since Scream Queens
Yall just catching up
Just refreshing to have an actor willing to do different types of movies
From mainstream movies like Top Gun and Twisters to romcoms like Set It Up and Anyone But You down to smaller movies like Everyone Wants Some and the Edgar Wright flick
He’s about to go on a run of remakes of old movies though
Running Man, Backdraft, Heaven Can Wait
This was underrated btw. Majors had the better performance but tbf to Glen his character wasn’t given much to do
Just the next white man hollywood puts in everything
His actual performances has never stood out to me like “wow this guy can act”
Overrated imo and definitely pushed way too much

Kinda crazy. Feel like both these dudes were being set up to be "the guys" for the next decade of movies. One fumbled and the other is still yet to be seen.
Powell seems like a cool guy, but I haven't really seen much from him that really moves me. Of the 4 or 5 movies I've seen him in, he kinda plays the same role. He's not bad, but it's not like the roles really demand much of him.
He's a good talent and does a refreshing range of films but its not really at the level of any major star we've seen before him. I get the good sentiments around him but i feel like the comparisons may set him up for failure. He still needs to carve out his own space
I haven't really seen him in anything i was super enticed by yet and those future projects don't seem like it'll change that for now

Woulda been great to have both continue to shine and then look back on the relatively small film they starred in together. Was a perfect set up and both are the same age. Still feel like Glenn hasn't hit the pocket Majors was at yet before he blew it
