Sounds like entitled Gen Z s***.

If you want to make money on your own accord then start a business or become an extremely professional worker. Or freelance. Otherwise you need more discipline, some of you niggas are scared to leave the house and it shows.

It's a little bit of everything tbh. Some Gen Z'ers are entitled but you also have to consider that the Boomers left us with a s*** system and expect us all just to thrive under it

The fact that in the 70's a common topic of discussion was "what are we going to do in the 21st century since rising productivity will lead to everyone working fewer hours for the same amount of pay? People will be bored? What will working so little look like?"

And instead we're working more than ever
Children, teens, and young adults are killing themselves at a higher rate than ever
There are riots everywhere and inequality is at an all time peak.

These problems are systemic, and inherent in any economical system based on linear growth.

    We are so beyond f***ed.

    come talk about it https://www.ktt2.com/societal-collapse-incoming-3876

Now this is something completely different

We are on course for a societal collapse buts it’s not because of 5 day work weeks

It’s because for years Americans have been contempt with living image obsessed capitalistic driven lifestyles.

It’s always been easier to go along with the flow then stopping the pattern (hence boomers)

It’s been 6 years since Edward Snowden has come out and told us that we’re being spied on and what have we done? Jack s*** because we assume someone else will step up and do something and ultimately nothing ever gets done

Middle and upper class White America especially have thrived off exploiting minorities and basking in their privilege as blacks, Hispanics, Middle Easterns, Asians etc have Lost more and more power with every calendar

Even minority leaders like Obama have had their hand at turning the crank that is the oppression machine. In his time in office he expanded surveillance programs, passed anti whistleblower legislation, deported record number of immigrants and did this all while collecting checks from
    Big banks

There are numerous cracks in the US but to blame your job or your work hours is just plain lazy and stupid

They did and that's why I don't listen to my parents' advice when it comes to work because they still think bruteforcing is the quickest way to get a job. Which holds truth if you're applying for menial s***.

This is just about the scheduling though, and, that pretty much always depends on the company that hired you. I haven't worked a traditional 9 to 5 job in my life, cause all of my scheduling has been different, but OPs complaint to me seems to be that the issue is too much time is spent working.. which is wild because s***, its getting more difficult TO get hours these days

Before the 5 day work week it used to be 7 day work weeks.

Tech had advanced in a lot to where we don’t need to work as much

Not to mention Microsoft tested this out and noticed a 40% increase in productivity. It also lowers traffic, pollution and utility bills for companies

    you're right.
i just don't see spiritualy having a lot of room in out technocracy future. tech will bring quick fixes to everything. instant pleasure will be king. people will not practice meditation, they will take pills. everything will move super fast. faster than we are meant to process things
    its our reality now

We are being turned into desensitized automatons. Pills numbing our sensations and emotions and we're being pulled further and further into virtual reality and the internet instead of real life. People have trouble being around other humans and have even more trouble speaking to and relating to others. S*** is going to get wild. It's going to hit a tipping point though. It isn't in our design to do this.

40% increase in productivity in Microsoft employees

i.e extremely skilled, educated, much smarter than average workers

5 day work week is almost excessive now just like the 7 day work week used to be before the mass production of cars

Sounds kind of like you're victim blaming.... The system wasn't set up so that everyone has a job that they love man lol. If you love what you do that's a huge blessing but that's just frankly not the reality for most people

    Bro I’ll tell you this

The US is f***ed but it’s not impossible to maneuver

I’m 22 currently making about $42k a year working in healthcare and I didn’t even goto college because I couldn’t afford it

I was offered the same American dream as everyone else what’s more I was the child of immigrants who knew nothing when they came to this country

My entire life I’ve been fed the same s*** that chads and Beckys have plus the oppression that came with being a brown boy in white America

I learned at early age that if you want something it’s up to you to go get it. You can’t trust the system, your parents, the media Etc it’s all on you

Your argument that the system wasn’t made for people to succeed is true but there are hundreds of people who realized that and decided not to buy into it

I still remember getting accepted into college as the oldest of 3 and feeling a lot of pressure from my family to take on the debt necessary to go but I decided not to because I knew it was a rat race

I didn’t get to goto tailgates or goto college parties or create relationships that would help me in adulthood instead I jumped straight into the work force and started working at McDonald’s at 18 to being 22 and working for on the nations leading health systems. My coworkers are all still paying off debt to learn what I learned in night classes and on my own

To sit back and blame your miserable life on the government or “the system” is exactly why the US is the way it is. Because you automatically assume people and entities are looking out for your best interests and because of that you get lead astray and neglect to hold yourself accountable for your own actions

No one is forcing you to follow the cheese but it’s the easiest and most convenient so you do and once too realize that there is no way out it’s too late and you turn to pointing fingers when in realty you are entitled to nothing

Docs/Bankers/Big law lawyers/And most other professional service folks are overworked with having all 7 days to do their work regardless.

If you're talking about jobs where no client/customer directly relies on you, sure I guess

If you did your research you would find that the 5 day 8-5 was created by Henry Ford and implemented in his auto manufacturing plants and as a result productivity shot up because workers got to spend more time with friends and family and had more time to spend money on goods and services which boosted local economies

Regardless what I said stands. If you thoroughly enjoy your job you’re not watching the clock. If you’re watching the clock it’s because you’re anxious to leave which should say something about the profession you’re in

No one wants to admit they’re stuck or unqualified to do something else so they turn to blaming their schedule as if the job is mandatory

Complaining about your hours is a cop out

Henry Ford implemented a five day work week from a seven day work week. You have no idea what you’re even talking about do you? A four day work week would allow people an entire extra day to spend money on goods and services. The majority of current research is showing that a four day work week increases productivity. What you said does not stand, this has nothing to do with liking your job and clock watching. It has everything to do with capitalistic exploitation of the working class and the stupid mentality that Americans have of working as many days or hours as possible. If workers were asked to work 40 hours in 4 days or 40 hours in 5 days which one do you think they will pick?

You obviously haven’t worked very long in an environment where this was presented. S*** 95% of the people I work with choose an alternate 44/36 schedule cus it allows them to have every other Friday off. Some people still have their 25 year old grandfathered in 4 day 40 hour week, and everyone is extremely jealous of that.

You blaming workers for wanting a shorter work week with the same amount of hours and productivity for a better quality of life is just sad and ignorant.
