Alc’s sample selection and chopping is otherworldly, but some of his drums aren’t up to par. I’m sure he wants to give space for the vocals, but even then the sound selection is often stale.

The switch up was noticable after Alfredo I'd say. There's way less straight up raw s*** and more dreamy loops with no drums. Which there isn't anything wrong with and yes it's still alc but it's just one style of alc which people kinda get tired of

Flying High was so dope and Faith is a Rock is my #1 AOTY and it’s kinda clear he was the one in charge of that album

I think his vibe and the whole drumless thing has brought some refreshing takes and a new color palette in hip hop, I respect him for kind of pioneering this late in his career in that sense. You kind of have to be in the mood for it and maybe the amount of it is too much for people, I can see how it seems stale to some. But I generally don’t think that’s really fair. He’s on a wave and has done so much quality work in the last few years
