I remember the day IYRTITL was released. it was on SoundCloud for less than a few hours so that didn’t really make a difference. Also I’m talking about overall sales.

FHD is 3x plat and IYRTITL isn’t. FHD had more staying power than IYRTITL

Once again your comparing an album to what was considered a side project lmao

FHD is the only one worthy of mentioning and that’s still ain’t it. The rest is all misses.

If fhd “aint it” you’re either white or a nerd

Fnl and fhd are established as classic and cult classic status

What do you consider classic in the past 10 years?

    GKMC
    TPAB
    TC
    NWTS
    DAMN
4:44 (classic within the genre tho)

Idk, I just feel like something is missing from FHD. Like I wouldn't say it's better than any of these albums

I was on J Cole Nation forums everyday, I still remember going on there one day and the background changed because he announced FHD. I remember hearing the snippets before the album dropped and thinking Apparently would be my favorite. Everyone at my school would call me J Cole because I was growing my hair out

I got a lot of personal attachment to the album and I think it's great. But Idk, it's just gotta be better music than that for me to say classic

Wouldn’t really say he ran a generation, he’s just kind of been there and after 10 years he anointed himself as some elder statesman of rap.

He walks around like a Bill Russell without the 11 rings

So FHD isn’t a classic but IYRTITL is?

You brought up IYRTITL in here saying that FHD reviewed better and sold more than it But IYRTITL does have a stronger case

    Drake debut literally sold 500K

    Keep your projections thanks

I never denied FNL status, FHD is a mainstream rap album that sold well. However it’s not a classic, you just admitted by saying it’s a cult-classic, basically a classic among his fans but not overall.

And over 10 minutes of just thanking people on an album that's 65 minutes long That's like 25% worth of s*** I never want to come back to, literally a quarter of this album is bad.

Coke definitely didn’t live up to his potential

Felt like him isolating himself and his No features stick really made him believe his own hype in a bad way

He was a future GOAT but he really turned into a fake woke / real hip-hop rapper

Post 2014, he tries way to hard to be “real” and just comes off as corny and lame

  • Jan 4, 2022

Jay had Kanye and Wayne had Drake

Unfortunately they are the easiest target. Easy to manipulate them emotionally so they are the biggest spenders, with most of them coming from single parent homes without a father so there’s no guidance.

I’m going to stop there before people start saying I hate them
