This how you know OP was born in 2008
2008 is basically a geriatric based on how ktt people post so i will take that as a compliment
Yes, just like every relevant artist that ever died, Michael Jackson became bigger after death. It's just an inevitable consequence of dying when you're popular.
I feel like people are just denying an obvious truth because they feel like you're implying that he's only so popular because he died. What do you expect from low IQ people.
Furthermore, MJ might've been one of the most well known artists of all time but Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Eagles were also massive and arguably bigger than him.
yeah, I think people think I am putting him in the tier of Pop Smoke and Juice when obviously MJ is exponentially bigger. or they think I'm saying he is big because he died
an artists' work becomes more valuable when they die since they can't make any more of it, and scarcity creates value
KTT is just full of lots of low IQ people. it's a bit unfortunate
..selling out a 50 concert residency (1 million tickets) in record timing?
How bad!
You know what I meant
Artists who were already successful don't get bigger after death unless they havent peaked. Mj peaked so no. Same thing with dmx. Nina simone didnt get bigger after she died bro. Literally apply this to any dead artist and the fact is they don't get bigger. Didnt aretha franklin die like 2 years ago?
Usually it’s young people who get idolized
People who died right before they could fully show what they were gonna be
Aaliyah, pac, Kurt, Heath ledger
Mj lived out his peak years
People who weren't alive during MJ's peak trying to say how big he was
That's like me saying how big Mozart was or Beethoven
@KingOfPop come get this clown
Hell no. He just died after his worst moment.
You are legitimately the worst poster in this site bar none

So he didn't die after a pedo case that hurt his reputation a lot? My bad. Must have imagined it.
Even if he was innocent, the damage had been done.

Bigger and there discography selling for more are two different things
People usually think of folks like Pac, Pop Smoke, and Juice as artists who were bigger in death, but this probably applies to MJ as well.
The largest recording contract in history was MJ's and it was signed after he died. $250m
EDIT: ok this was a bad title. I am just a little surprised that he was basically near bankruptcy and then he signed the biggest record deal of his career after he died. he could have saved his finances with his comeback tours and memorabilia sales if he'd lived, but it's a little surprising that his biggest record deal was when he died
EDIT 2: ok MJ was not bigger in death. every artists's work just becomes more valuable in death, especially if they die unexpectedly, and that's why MJ's biggest record deal came after he died
His run while he was alive was untouched, bro was a living legend by his mid 20s, his reach is till immense but people are starting to wain off his stuff gradually now
When the artist dies the family, or whoever controls the estate, no longer gives a s*** about artistic integrity and they cash out
I don’t blame em because for most of em it’s like what the hell are they gonna do with it
But like, Prince could’ve made a lot putting his s*** on stream but he never wanted it up there.
But that’s why the s*** sold for so much after their death. MJ and Prince could’ve gotten huge deals selling their s*** if they wanted to if they were still alive

death is different. i think people are forgetting how big MJ's death was and how that translated to sales
Google thought their search engine as under attack because that's how much MJ's death changed traffic
His record sales went crazy when he died. Amazon sold out of all Jackson and Jackson 5 CDs within minutes of the news breaking
MJ broke three chart records on the first Billboard issue date that followed his death
Bigger and there discography selling for more are two different things
ok now people are just arguing semantics. he was "bigger" at his peak in the 80's (or 90's) when people fainted just looking at him, but his catalog and sales went crazy in death, which is normal
He was already huge, like huge and still the most popular artist probably
If anything I’m surprised he ain’t become some next level after he passed but I guess he was already at the highest you can get
