depends on how you are measuring "bigger"

he signed bigger deals in death than in life, so the music was more in demand. however sure in the 80's / 90's he could just stand still and people would faint so he was bigger in that sense

The music was not more in demand post 2009 as it was when he was alive.

Just look at the release of Bad, Dangerous and even History. These were huge moments in time - just because Sony signed a flashy deal after MJ died doesn’t mean suddenly he was going to do better numbers/generate more interest

there are lots of different ways to measure influence and fame. album sales and the dollar amount fo a contract, those are just one way

obviously there is the era where hundreds of thousands of people would stand outside his hotel room. but the immediate aftermath of his death was something we will probably never see again. he set commercial, billboard records that week and that year. he occupied tons of chart positions all over the world

idk if that means he was "bigger" then than he was before, but I think it's easy to forget just how big he was / is in death

You are equating him being bigger with the signing of a deal, they are two very different things. Its not semantics as you claimed earlier in this thread and I'm not sure why you think this.

Also that 1996 to 2008 stat is meaningless as he was at his peak before 1996.
