How well is the song charting?
yeah do you think its because its repetitive? like we did this already
the music is just ass

winter's getting cold so I dont think most people even a***yze it like that. but yeah its the same gimmick again for worse music, totally unnecessary and unnatural as artistic expression
he's a gimmick artist who makes terrible music
did very well to extend his run after old town road but he has been found out now
this is all it comes down too
I dont care for the 'marketing genius' talk either, are we in the viral marketing business or good music business?
s*** only works a couple times even tyler and Em had to grow up eventually
a grown up lil nas x album sounds like a nightmare

i guess grown up isn’t the right term cus drake never grew up but you can tell he actually take music serious and not depending on gimmicks every album rollout

lmaoo nah its a valid criticism—if its really annoying to people then i wont post them, but i rly do try to start conversations though. i think my thread history shows that. saying i wont ever be successful is wack and unnecessary but i disagree so its all good
Always been stale. S***'s annoying!
how do u feel about early eminem / tyler / earl?

I don't find myself returning to those projects because that shtick hasn't aged well for me. And for artists of this era to do it, it just completely falls flat for me.
But I think that's normal when you grow older. In a sense that the outrage shtick is something that only grabs your attention when you're younger.

yea exactly. i actually think the biggest value in the shock value path is being able to grow in front of everyone. all 3 of the artists i named did that. im curious to see if thts what lil nas x goes into as well

Absolutely. You can't stick with it because your audience is just gonna outgrow it and you'll get left behind. But if you grow, your audience can grow with you and stay relating to the music.
