It depends tbh, like in op where you say there were Christians and Muslims in the thread “shifting blame”. I think if your main religious text, for example, the Quran, primarily promotes peace, which the Quran does. And someone, like the person in France who beheaded that woman uses their Muslim faith to justify their actions, the only person there is to blame is the person who did the killing. As far as I know there isn’t a quote from the Quran that explicitly says to murder nonbelievers unprovoked, yet if you listened to a terrorist speak, they’d have you believe that there is.

To only blame religion for terrible s*** like that happening, because we can’t fathom the idea of humans being so evil that they’d purposely misinterpret religious text to carry out more evil is arrogant to me
