Half of it is the fact that SF gets unreasonably demonized because it’s “liberal” or something like we aren’t far better than LA or other non-CA cities

Liberals arent what makes SF so bad

Besides Id much rather be in Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, Anywhere in OC,

    you'd want venezuela 2.0

I don’t want Venezuela because they don’t deserve the treatment they receive from other countries regarding their political organization. It creates terrible social conditions because powerful countries want them to buy into a terrible system of exploitation rather than existing independently

These positions, as a result, create the conditions that lead to the “Venezuela” that you speak of

It’s the same deal as “if you don’t wanna die, obey what the cop says.” It’s a narrow mindset that fails to observe the causation of a situation and instead just looks at a situation

I’d agree but they simultaneously want to be easy on crime while supporting positions that make crime easier

    Nobody wins

There's more robberies going on everywhere due to a combination of a crappy economy with no more stimmy checks, mental health going downhill, and inflation.

Yo I thought the same. Then I was like f*** it Imma move to a communist country with a benevolent leader. Best decision I ever made. I highly recommend you do it too. People are actually lining up to migrate to these countries contrary to what the mainstream media got you believe. Trust me bro.

People with nothing to lose realized how easy it is to steal without repercussion. Cops don’t give af about petty crime.

Actually it’s just cops in San Francisco that don’t give a f*** about petty crime. This is because in general the DA has been giving repeat petty crime offenders lighter sentences compared to other DAs in the past who will amp up on harsher sentences if it’s your 2nd or 3rd petty theft crime.

In my state the DA will f*** you up for petty theft. They have undercover police in the Walmarts and Targets and an officer or two that sits in the camera room and he’ll INSTANTLY come out and nab your ass if you try to steal some s*** in there. If you steal from a Walgreens your face is going on the local news that night, and if that catch your license plate the law will be knocking on your door within a few days.

I mean this is subjective ofc. But in a lot of places with impoverished areas crime has significantly gone up

They not hittin the poor parts . Petty crime went up in the nice rich areas, compared to what we typically see of crime going up in the low income areas.

Start carrying and making an example of these people who be robbing and mugging people. People gonna think twice if they get start getting shot in the face trying to rob a car.

Idk a LOT of these robbers and thefts are done by unarmed people in pubic (very light sentence in San Francisco if you commit petty robbery or theft unarmed compared to other cities).

So if you blast someone’s face off and they find out they weren’t armed, the jury is gonna eat you alive.

And to top it off, the vast majority of armed robberies are stick ups and non violent, so even if that goon is armed, it’s very likely he has no intent of killing you.

So yes technically if you see someone pull out a gun and you blast their face off…by the law you will walk free but you’ll have to live for the rest of your life knowing you took someone’s life away who in all likely hood wasn’t even trying to kill you.

    Life isn’t black and white.

now imagine if police could have 24/7 presence inside the Houston galleria parking lot. this could have been prevented

If you ever read about being an officer, 99 times out of 100, by the time the crime is called in to dispatch, the perpetrator is already gone.

Think about that, by the time dispatch Karen receives a 911 call, the criminal who stabbed someone has already left the scene.

Since that is the nature of “law enforcement” police primarily just document what happened and carry on with their beat. Police. I can guarantee you are more likely to run into a dead body than catching a violent crime in the act as an officer. That’s why police don’t care, no one is doing a massive manhunt over a stabbing typically. The issue of police responsiveness to violent crime is a complex topic and doesn’t have an easy answer that doesn’t involve the force turning draconian on its citizens.

I mean where I’m from is only where I can speak on personally. I’m in the trenches and s*** is significantly worse. Suburbs taking a slight blow but I’m the one praying every night some crazy s*** doesn’t happen to me more than they are. It’s always been rough given it’s the hood but I’ve never genuinely felt unsafe until the last few months. The better neighborhoods around here are still a much better alternative

Similar things happening in NYC. Feels like there’s a new subway stabbing/murder every day now

People getting murdered execution style in broad daylight. Random attacks. Hate crimes. Everything.

Homelessness is one of the main problems. Throughout the pandemic they housed a lot of homeless in affluent neighborhoods and 5 star hotels and let them take over key city centers like penn station. And now they aren’t moving.

It’s basically a clusterfuck of people tryna get back to their normal lives while surrounded by mentally unstable folk who randomly lash out.

Couple that with NYPD being way more laissez faire and it’s a recipe for disaster
