We're putting our assets in a trust prior to marriage

  • Jun 3, 2023

I wish I hadn’t but some good came out of it, prolly more good than bad. It all depends on your partner and your circumstances.

Those divorce rates are insane though

Congrats. Older I get the more I look forward to marriage

    Thank you

Yeah I didn’t see myself getting married until I was much older… but when the right one comes into your life the choice to commit to each other is as natural as breathing. It was for me at least

marriage is a beautiful thing you can get married and not sign a contract. forever is a long time tho

  • Jun 3, 2023

I’m down for spiritual and ceremonious marriage, but not legal marriage. Legal marriage is too financially sticky. I’m not trying to be fleeced if I one day ever have it like that. Rather just have a partner/companion than a legal wife.

    thats beautiful bro

    Depends.

If you find the right partner, it's actually better to be married than single.

You get to combine incomes, get certain tax credits, raise kids in a stable household, not waste money/time chasing women, and studies have shown that married men are more likely to get promotions on their jobs than single men.

That said, that's only true if you find the right partner. If you have the wrong partner, it's much better to be single.

married men are more likely to be promoted because marriage is something that tends to keep you in one place. You have to prioritize giving a woman and maybe your kids a well funded environment over doing what makes you happy or will actually help further your career. Getting promoted in most companies is just a slight pay grade when compared to the work load and how many excess hours the company demands of you.

Don't get me wrong, getting promoted isn't an L but it's not always as beneficial as it seems from the outside.

also,,being married to a woman naturally makes your lifestyle way more expensive

majority of married guys that splurge on things like an expensive house, newest model year car, lavish wedding, designer clothes, etc only do it bc their woman is pressuring them

be fr... do you think your girl would cheat on you?

I think a romantic relationship is something that I want but deep down I know I can't trust any woman to be honest and loyal

I would never look at divorce rates and think I shouldn’t get married.

That’s THEM. And with all due disrespect to THEM, I’m different.

Maybe the issue is most people marrying before theyre even 25 years olds and people marrying the very first person they get in a serious relationship with - not marriage within itself

How do you do it king, how do you do it

Divorce rates only rising, you lose half your assets and your kids (men). Hard to date again as a 40 year old who’s lost half his wealth lol prolly balding too.

The divorce rates 92% in Portugal

    And 86% in Spain

I do believe in love but love always turns into business in this world.

So all in all, what’s the point? This ain’t even mentioning the cost of the engagement ring and wedding

If you want kids it is best to be married.
