From what I've seen, we're getting smarter and thinking more critically overall.

Our ability to a***yze complex ideas, form coherent thought, and emotionally regulate age-appropriately is getting better.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Why would we be motivated to be willfully ignorant?

    Because it's cool

Ignorance is bliss and requires less energy

Easy to paint everything in black and white rather than get muddied in the grey area

What would make you think humans are a***yzing complex things better? I’ll keep it a buck, maddddd people using buzzwords to stay “in” and I don’t think that implies intelligence at all. Maybe competence but not intelligence

I'm confused as to why ppl don't trust the youth (Gen Z/Alpha) to put their best foot forward

They've done nothing to warrant scrutiny lol, boomers were dumb asl too.

I mean all u rly gotta do is look at grade point averages, or college graduation rates, or sat scores, or iq scores

I'm sure someone has done this and we can readily find out if there's any evidence of people getting smarter

The average boomer has never thought about anything critical in their life they just go to work and spend around 20 hours of looking at the tv all day...

lowkey boomers are more addicted to TV than zoomers are to their phones
