My first time going to a mosque on Saturday and im a little nervous, canât lie. Do I just walk in and tell them I want to learn more bout Islam or what?
Is there specific person I need to talk to? Do I need to wear something specific?
ma shaa Allah!
Try covering atleast to ur knees. The awrah for men is from their navel to their knee (including the knee)
You could ask anyone and they will want to help you. You could recognize the Imam because he will probably be all the way at the front (like if u walk in its all the way at the end, but during prayer thats the âfrontâ)
You could try going around the time of a prayer if youâre going to a smaller mosque. Then there will always be atleast a few people.

Ok nice. I will just wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt.
Would it be smart to go when theyâre in prayer? Donât want to interrupt anything.
There is this big conference going down in s few weeks but I figured that wouldnât be a good time for a first visit

if u come like 30 min before prayer they could maybe even help you with Wudhu (cleaning up) and then u could even follow them in prayer if you like! Just following the movements.
When weâre actually praying its very noticable, then you can just wait untill theyre finished.
The reason I recommend to go around prayer time is because thatâs when mosques are busier and you have more people to speak to. I donât know how big the mosque is youâre planning to go to but if they got conferences I think it should be decently sized. Then there might be someone there to talk to all day :)

Ok so the conference is at a different mosque. This one Iâm going to is relatively small and according to the reviews it seems like it will be perfect for what Iâm trying to get done.
Thanks so much. This advice has helped a lot.

Barak'Allah Brother,
You picked a good season to go
For summer time I recommend wearing the thawb as it allows for better air circulation and a breezy experience. If you opt for wearing a suit I would maybe avoid wearing a tie because it is a symbol of western imperialism.

Also jeans are frowned upon
Capri cotton pants are more accepted than Long Lee jeans

I'm only trying to give good advice. I didnt say wearing jeans is Haram. But it is frowned upon. Our brother is meeting this group of pious mosque goers for the first time. Do you think wearing fitting jeans and imitating the kuffar is good first impression?, Astaghfurillah, it may not be haram but it is rude like talking during the khutba!
