You’re upset at wording something a certain way when you know what they really mean

Cause its rude, but like I said its just the way people speak. Not like I take it personally. It doesn't "upset" me as much as you think it does.

I work in retail and it always bugs me every single time it happens how casual people say things like “give me”, “get me a” or “let me have a” among other similarly demanding remarks. It’s such a rude way to ask for something, and I could never fix myself to say that to someone. I wasn’t even raised to say this but I always say may I have our can I have a. It just feels more right and will get you a lot further of you need help with something otherwise.

Not that this is a reflection of their character or anything, it’s just the way they speak. Still impossible not to notice.

This post says more about you more than anything because the average person isn’t even thinking of it in that way

Wrong. It says more that others get so upset by the mere observation. I didn’t even say anything about the people except it’s kinda rude to ask for things like that.

And how would you know what a “normal” person thinks about?

  • Sep 19, 2021

I usually ask 'Can I have, or Do you have?'

I lowkey think the same thing

And it's because I feel weird demanding something rather than asking.

I do the same s*** at my job with the material handlers. At first I was like 'Get me this and that...' Now I'm like 'Can you get me this?’ And people definitely notice and like that. But I also personally don't like to talk to people like they're my servants who owe me s***.

It's even better when you say hello or good morning and they reply with this instead of saying it back

Tbh. I worked fast food before and never thought anything about it because we know what the person mean. Now if their tone is nasty, that’s a different story

    What’s wrong with us

I see workers being rude to customers more often than I see customers being rude to employees. I’ve also had employees be rude with me over literally just them doing their job lol

Lazy, Attitudes, etc…All types of s***.

OP crying about words. Its nit like everywhere I go greeters greet, all employees say yes sir and no sir, etc…sometimes its just yeah and s*** lol

I’ve always said this and never thought twice about other people saying it when I worked food or retail.. you really shouldn’t be offended by it

Most normal people think this way
